This was a nice little mom and pop restaurant down the street from me. I went to check it out because i saw it had 4 stars . When we walked in seems like only one person was working who so happened to be the chef. So he would wait us and cook the food for us. I got the tofu with vegetarian broth. I'll be honest I've had better for sure, i think my pho just had too much pepper, tooo heavy for me. The broth was good but overall im not quite sure what was soo great? It was very meh for me, maybe because I've gone to places where the pho has impressed me a lot so my standards are set high already. The banh mi unfortunately had the same results the pork was dry which is unfortunate. Although the presentation wasn't the best i would say it was something to fill our stomachs. I didn't try the Vietnamese coffee but i was told by the other person it had too much sugar. I cant vouch for that. Im reviewing only what i tried. The place itself can use some renovations but sometimes these places just make...

The stairs going up to the entrance is a bit steep, and the hand rails could use some refreshing. No bike rack near by, but there's a fence gate thing to use instead.

Once inside, the place is clean and tidy. There's a side balcony with outside seating, with umbrellas to provide shade. The outdoor tables were clean, but the chairs needed to be wiped down.

The menu consists of what you'd expect, from rice to vermicelli to noodle soup dishes. We ordered a rice and a vermicelli dish, and both of them were delicious. Fresh ingredients, correctly flavored, prepared carefully. The staff was friendly, chatty, honest and checked on us just enough without being annoying.

One of the best parts about the location is the view to the street. It's amazing there aren't more accidents. Cars, bikes, pedestrians everywhere going every direction. Very...

I stopped by on September 23, 2025, around 5:00 PM when I was craving some pho. The atmosphere was nice and the broth had good flavor, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing overall. I ordered the rare beef and tendon pho, but the beef was nowhere close to rare when it arrived. When I brought this up, the woman at the counter gave me excuses about how they prepare it, insisting I was mistaken—but I’ve been a professional cook for nearly 20 years, so I know the difference.

On top of that, the portion was small for the $20 price tag, with very little meat in the bowl. Because of these issues, I can only give this place two stars and won’t...

Vietnamese Cafe is a Vietnamese restaurant a block up from Market on 15th. Parking around here is always terrible, so be prepared to park up the block to walk to it and up their stairs (since they're on the 2nd floor). Inside, they probably have a dozen tables or so. Their menu is a good size and easy to navigate. Prices per portion are pretty good as their sandwiches are pretty big. The staff are so friendly here, always happy and usually will strike up a conversation with you. Overall it's a solid Vietnamese place with good food at a good price.
