TLDR: Above and beyond service, friendly vibes, and great coffee!
Walked in on a quest for beans and some bean juice to get the day started. Was greeted with smiles and friendly welcomes, which is often hard to find in this dark and cruel world. My partner and I ordered a vanilla almond milk latte and an americano. Both drinks were very good. Latte was well balanced and delicious. The americano was smooth and also expertly extracted to give a full flavor profile party across my palate. I picked up a bag of their espresso blend beans and was pleasantly suprised to see how recent their roast date was (I commonly find old beans being sold on the shelves of other stores and it saddens me). The owner then accurately concluded that it would be in my best interest to wait a few days before actually using those beans to allow them to offgas. As I was coming to terms with having to wait to taste these tantalizing beans, the owner unprompted offered to send me on my way with some ready to use beans on the house. This really made my day and they have earned my respect and business for as long as I...
Read moreThis is easily my favorite cafe in Capitol Hill. I stumbled in here one day a last year while hunting for a quick sandwich, and am so very glad I did. The food is delicious and is prepared quickly, but just as importantly, the owners (Katarina and her husband) are two of the nicest, sweetest, and most friendly people I have ever met. There's limited space to eat inside, so plan to get your food to go! My favorite sandwich is hands-down the Turkey Pastrami Panini, although I have also fallen victim to the Spinach Delish Crepe or the Breakfast bagel. If you're eyeing up something sweet, I highly recommend the Nutella Crepe or Carrot Cake, as well as a quintessential go-to Chai Latte.
Do yourself a favor and check out Capital D cafe the next time you're around 15th - you will...
Read moreGrab and go coffeeshop that is part of Kaiser Permanente building. Might want to avoid during peak work times.
There are two entrances ( one off 15th and one from inside the building). Mentioning this as the place is small ( 4 people in line is crowded) so you might have to walk through people to find the end of the line. Also if you have a stroller, you literally might not fit.
No indoor seating unless you count the Kaiser seating area which does have wifi. There are like 3 small tables outside the coffeeshop ( no heating lamps). Definitely not a place to work.
The bacon croissant sandwich is pretty good. they use higher quality bacon. A lot of places use the Oscar meyer microwave ones. Overall fair pricing and food comes out fast. The workers...
