This place is great, it's the perfect little neighborhood spot. I found it by accident one day and it's now my favorite cafe.
The atmosphere is lovely on its own, but it really helps that so much of Red Arrow is either outside or just very open. They don't skimp on space heaters, and they have a wonderful fireplace seating area so that no matter the weather, it's still nice to hang out and enjoy a drink outside the house without feeling too uncomfortable. I've stayed very locked down since COVID began and this is pretty much the only place I've felt good about spending a few extra minutes to relax.
Also, the food is amazing! The coffee and pastries are incredible, but they also have really fantastic lunch food. My favorite is the grinder sandwich, which is so enormous I have to share it with my husband when we get it.
I haven't had many of their cocktails, but I HAVE had a bloody mary and loved it.
This place is dog and kid friendly, and open to the elements, but it still maintains a very elegant and comfortable space that welcomes anyone (as long as they...
Read moreFinally tried this place last weekend and it was SO good! Tucked away behind Brimmer & Heeltap, street parking is fairly easy to find. In typical Seattle fashion, many opted to sit outside because there are heat lamps! We quickly got a seat inside and learned it is def warmer outside :)
Ordered our usual oat milk lattes (yum!). They use Hidden Figures for their oat milk, just FYI. My mission is to try every breakfast sandwich in Seattle, so naturally we tried the Egg Sandwich. This was one of the most unique flavor combinations I've ever tried! Fried egg, Beecher's cheddar cheese, Fresno chilies for a little kick, finished with blueberry preserves for a hint of sweetness! Definitely add the bacon. YUM x 2. No shock here since B&H's kitchen is top notch. The only opportunity this place has is to check on the food more regularly - our sandwich took over 30 minutes! One other note - this place can be pretty pricey. Two lattes and two breakfast sandwiches...
Read moreStopped for a quick breakfast here one morning. Before I even tasted food and drinks, the dude who took my order already half ruined my mood. When I asked about one of the items on the menu whether it’s served hot or cold. He shrugged his shoulders, and said in a dismissive tone “Cold.” I would have thought he might be having a bad morning and let it go immediately, but he started speaking to another dude behind me over my head as if me standing in the line doesn’t give him enough reason to finish taking my order before engaging with the next customer in line. If you hate explaining items on your menu, then don’t work at the front desk of a cafe, and if you have such a strong preference in serving white male customer so much more over female customers, then don’t work anywhere because your toxic energy does not help anyone, including yourself.
Coffee shops are my happy place, and this one is certainly not gonna be one of my usual spots...
