In a rush, I accidentally placed an order online to this location (meant for India Bistro on Roosevelt). As soon as I realized my mistake I called to tell them I was on my way. It was shortly after 8 but their phones were already off. When I arrived there was still people dining but two of their staff were masking non-compliant with it down below their noses and their hand sanitizer empty. Not a fantastic first impression. They handed me my bag of food. When I asked about my chai they informed me they had none. They reimbursed with me cash. I was about to leave when someone came out and told me they were also out of kheer. He was a little argumentative saying they don't even serve it anymore because too much was wasted. He directly stated I should have called to find out the details of my order and I had to remind him that online order platforms shouldnt also mandate a call and I had tried to call (twice). He looked at his phones and found them off. Unamused but reimbursed for both I left. When I got home I found they had also not included my pakoras. I called back knowing it was a long shot anyone would answer but they did. He again began to argue with me now declaring I hadn't ordered pakoras. I offered to send him a copy of the receipt when he back stepped and said he believed me. He requested I drive back to Ballard to pick up cash for reimbursement but I refused and demanded the credit be applied back to my card. Whether it was is yet to be determined. Trying to brush off the so far negative experience I figured maybe the food I did receive would be good. Nope. The garlic naan was fine - standard nothing notable. The paneer tikka masala was completely lacking in flavor. It tasted as if a they added a couple spices to a can of tomato sauce and dumped a couple pieces of cheese in it. In addition to bad service and violations of COVID mandates, it was an absolutely pathetic excuse for a meal and a disgrace to the wonderful flavors of Indian cuisine. The only reason it got 2 stars was there was any food included and it was at least warm. The India Bistro on Roosevelt is consistently excellent in quality and service and I can't recommend them enough, if I hadn't made my own stupid mistake I would have undoubtedly had a great dinner.

We hired India Bistro for their catering services for our wedding reception, and we really enjoyed working with their team. When we knew we were getting married, it was obvious right away that we wanted to have Indian food served. It’s our favorite cuisine! India Bistro is really close to the Golden Gardens Bathhouse, where we did our wedding reception, and is easily accessible to most of the greater Seattle area. Mukesh was responsive the day of our reception, and helped us to set up the best menu for our guests well in advance. Their team does great work, you can see the effort they put into their catering services, and the food was excellent! Every single dish was top-notch. If you need your next event catered, we would recommend India Bistro.

We love this place, they are by far our favorite Indian restaurant in Seattle. Having a restricted diet makes it hard sometimes to go out but I always feel comfortable here since the owner and servers all know the menu really well and are always very accommodating of my food allergies. We recently went and they already knew what I wanted which is a big bonus! I recommend the aloo gobi, the cauliflower and potatoes are always cooked perfectly and the flavor is so so good. My partner loves the lunch buffet and is never disappointed.

I love India Bistro and have been a patron of theirs for years. I know Indian food has different styles but for me, India Bistro does it the right way.

I literally moan in ecstasy when I eat their veggie somosas, which are big, greasy, crunchy, a little spicy, with perfect potato and peas. I usually get chicken korma, a sweet and tangy cream sauce with big chunks of dark chicken, along with bits of paneer cheese, almonds, and a raisin or two for extra pow. Mixed together with their perfectly cooked and spiced rice is heaven for me.

Another favorite is their saag paneer, rich and fresh spinach sauce with cubes of paneer cheese. Not bland or overcooked like others do, even if you don't usually like spinach you might really like this. Again, mixed with their rice, it's perfectly hearty, exotic, filling and decadent.

Beware: They do delivery thru various services but certain foods don't transfer well in a closed, steaming container. Naan bread loses some of its crispness and breaded appetizers turn a little mushy. Those foods are properly served straight from kitchen to table. It's not the restaurant's fault, it's just physics. We still order them,we just understand they will be different. Also, I recommend you add an extra order of rice if you plan on...

If I could give zero stars I would. I have been ordering take out /delivery from here and 70% of the times ,there has been some or the other issue, sometimes the curry sent is the wrong one, other times something else. I still ignored this until today. They have recently started increasing prices and lessening the quantity of the food. The curries are watered down to increase the quantity. Today I saw an extra charge for packaging on my bill. Are you serious? Also the prices online and what they charged me were different. When I checked, the lady on the counter was very rude about it. She calls her colleague and says “the packaging charge seems a lot to her it seems” saying it has been there forever. No ma’am! That’s a lie. I picked up an order 2 weeks back and it wasn’t there and she gave me “whatever” looks and went back in. THE LEAST YOU GUYS CAN DO IS BE POLITE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS! If the charges look different from what you have mentioned online and what I have been charged in person, it’s my right to inquire about it as a customer. The food itself was watered down, and bland. After today I don’t think I ever want to come here again or suggest this place to anybody else. Negative stars for that...
