Shawarma Man Medittranean Grill — Restaurant in Seattle

We owe many thanks for Our Incredible Shawarma dinners at Shawarma Man! (found thru Google) This new neighborhood late night joint has fantastic cooking the street vendors can't touch - and the prices are very decent.

If you're out and about in the Lake City neighborhood, and you can hit these guys by 10PM, you won't be sorry.

We had a Chicken Shawarma plate & a Lamb Shawarma plate. The meal was delicious, subtly spiced and substantial. The salad was fantastic and distinctive. served also with an incredible smooth hummus, some very fresh pita & a side of garlic sauce. Back when I lived in the United Kingdom, there was a tiny hole-in-the-wall shawarma place in the town (now a city, technically) of Colchester - I insisted that it had the best shawarma I'd ever tried. Ever since moving to the USA I've been searching for a place to take up its mantle, or at least offer a passable imitation. Years passed. I began to think it'd never happen - that the high water mark of shawarmas I would ever eat would lie forever in the past.

And then, of course, I tried Shawarma Man. This place is fantastic - a real treat, a raising of the bar. The meat is succulent and moist, the sauces are perfect, and the portions are batting well above the Seattle average. Wow, I am so glad I accidentally ran across this place. Let me tell you, it was a great experience start to finish. The gentleman behind the counter was super nice, very helpful and patient while we figured out what we wanted.

We ordered and as we did he asked some questions and suggested changing a couple of things on our order. He saved us like $15 by not ordering too much food as we kind of did not fully understand the menu options. For instance, I ordered a plate PLUS fries with lamb. The fries with lamb were a MEAL, and I am not a light eater.

The food was amazing. The fries were hot, crispy, fresh and cooked with fresh oil. The lamb was tender and sliced thinly and seasoned amazingly well. It was AMAZING.
