I enjoyed eating dry pot here. There specialty is dry pots and they executed it really well! If I'm ever craving dry pots again, I will definitely come back here. The space is pretty big with booth like seating on both the sides of the restaurant as well as additional seating further inside. They serve complimentary jasmine tea which is great in the winters! I visited the restaurant with a friend who is vegetarian and we got the veggie pot (medium size) which comes with a few pre-selected veggies (like cauliflower, potato fries, etc.) along with 6 veggie options which you can choose yourself. We also got two rice to go along with it. As everyone has mentioned, the medium size dry pot is huge and can easily feed 3-4 people. We really enjoyed the veggie textures which were individually cooked to their desired doneness and then mixed with sauce. We chose the 'mala' sauce which was nicely numbing. There was a pool of oil at the end though so minus one star for that. Hopefully they can make the dry pots non/less oily and I would come here more frequently. The rice was kinda dry and not nicely sticky. Between the extremely dry rice and the dry pot, it might be better to have a soupy side. Our server was extremely nice and she packed the leftovers into two separate boxes (without being told) so that my friend and I could take a box home. I thought that was a sweet gesture. Definitely should come here with a bigger group to try more things or just be ready for...
Read moreSizzling Pot King serves pre-prepared hot pot for the table, whether it's the standard soup based or their specialty dry pot. You order the type and size of the pot, which may come with some pre-selected ingredients, add your choices of meat/vegetables/carbs, and finally the spice level. Be careful with the spice level here, as they definitely cater towards a heat tolerant crowd.
The tastiness of a hot pot is determined by the variety and freshness of the ingredients as well as the flavor of the broth. Everything here is ok, though the broth seemed to be more focused on heat rather than flavor. They do offer some more specialty meats such as duck which is definitely worth trying. Also recommend the lotus root and dried or...
Read moreI've always been trying to find a great drypot location in Seattle. There was this one time my friend from Cali visited me and she really wanted drypot and I couldn't take her to a great place cause let's face it, Drypot restaurants is everywhere in California. But now with confidence, I can finally take my friend when she come back to Seattle again. I often get the garlic medium spicy flavor as it suits well with those friends who are not into the malla numbing spice. I highly recommend the beef and for those who like frog 🐸 I would go with this. Medium size is already generous enough if you are sharing between 2-3 people. Also try their non drypot dishes, such as the pork intestines or the fishroe...
