A little bit not their fault because I was told we were going to get pizza. But my definition of what pizza is and world pizza also appears to differ. This was probably the most disappointing culinary experience I have had the misfortune of suffering. The crust was soggy, the sauce was bland, it was just crap all around. Here's my thing, if you are gonna be a vegetarian joint, embrace it, there are LOTS of good potential toppings that are vegetable, using gross meat substitutes just makes your pizza taste terrible and reminds the person eating that it is unreal. I tried 2 different slices "pepperoni" and a spinach and goat cheese action. Both of them felt like robberies of my soul. Last night I made a pizza and it was a reminder to me about how easy it is to make a proper pizza. Such a disappointment. This pizza joint is located in chinatown; but has no chinese or asian influence in flavors or even decor from what I could see. The walls are painted a striking overwhelming red, and dotted with strange abstract paintings that I didn't really care for - it's definitely a look though.
The inside itself was sticky and gross. There was a cart near the back filled with dirty dishes that didn't look like it had been emptied in a while. Each table is equipped with parmesan and pepper flakes which are covered in grease and grime.
Pies are sold whole or by the slice; you order at the counter when you walk in...
Read moreI walked in on a whim because I wanted a quick holdover snack. I wouldn't come to chinatown for pizza, but I also didnt want any chinese soups or dumplings to fill me up and cancel my boozing plans. that was supposed to be an idea for later. all pizzas were vegan etc friendly and the slice I had was very tasty. it was my 1st time here and I would certainly recommend and return. the staff was cool and the energy was calm. there was a family w children and the man working, jimmy, was very attentive and friendly. there was a steady flow of traffic and everyone looked happy. good times. maybe I'll...
