I have mixed emotions about this place. Whoever the "bouncer", or whatever he is, at this place is pretty douchey. I went into the bathroom and after being in there for about a minute, he was pounding on the bathroom door, demanding to know what I was doing - which was very off-putting. He also kept trying to remove drinks from the table that i was at, when it was obvious we weren't done with them yet. He kind of gives the place a whole.. well, weird vibe, I guess. He's not there all the time though, usually only on event nights and/or weekends. They serve good drinks here, and they have a small selection of pinball games (like 2 or 3), a basketball shooting game, and a Big Buck Hunter game. The food is REALLY nothing to write home about - but it's, I guess, decent bar fare. Edible. For some odd reason, the relish for their hot dogs is RADIOACTIVE GREEN colored - don't know what that's about, lol. Not a ton of seating, but they're usually not TOO busy, so it isn't normally hard to find a seat. Most of the bartenders are very nice and friendly - one or two others are a bit stand-offish, but in no way unpleasant. It's a sister bar to Shorties in Belltown, so the food is the same as at Shorties. But with a much, much smaller array of games. Good prices, though, and definitely worth checking out. Just beware the "bouncer" guy. Oh!! And if you put money into the "jukebox" so you can hear whatever songs you want - expect them to be at 50% of the volume of whatever is already playing. I put 20.00 in the other day, for like, 55 credits or something like that - did not hear a single word of any song I had put in. Immediately after my selections were done and it went back to the regularly programmed music, it was extremely loud, so needless to say, that irritated me very much. But, what do you do, you know? I'm just saying, don't waste your money on...
Read moreMy newly fiance and I went to the Meyer tonight(12/13/19). The bartender was extremely rude! I asked for a lighter beer and got no suggestions which was fine, but I then asked for my fiance if they had Black Cherry White Claws and the bartender said "I don't know, you get whatever I give to you!". It's the weirdest thing I've ever heard from a bartender. She didn't ever bother to look to see what she had not to mention the scowl on her face with a clear indication that she wanted nothing to do with taking care of us. My fiance and I were at this bar the last couple nights previous to tonight and the service was a completely 180° difference. We had Julia and a male bartender, whom I can't remember his name, but they were very welcoming and accomodating. Everyone was nice then, but this bartender threw us for a loop and was rude. So we left! This one bartender, had I known her name, I would mention it, shouldn't be in the industry! It seemed she couldn't handle a few customers right up front as well as a couple simple questions. Seems like this may be common when she's bartending as some of the regulars said she gets like that. We decided to go to Fuel instead. Happy to hang here and have a couple. If we walk into The Meyer again and the same bartender is working that was tonight, I'll be happy to...
Read moreI actually really like this bar. Yeah, the bartender was MIA for a few minutes before they came to help me but honestly I was willing to wait. If you are in a rush or if you're a generally impatient person, don't come here. Seems like a place that runs on just a few staff members per night so don't expect efficient service if you show up with 10 other people. If you're looking for a place with a chill atmosphere and friendly patrons, do come here. It was pretty relaxed when I went there around midnight on a weekday. Still a good handful of people around, not awkwardly empoty or anything. Seems like a neighborhood bar where the regulars really look out for other people. Not in the best area of town but it's perfect if you like the eclectic/cozy/pirate bar vibe and it has dive bar prices. Never had their food because it's clearly a bar that focuses more on drinks than food. Lots of food choices around that area anyways but they have a lot of...
