The Monkey Bridge feels like the kind of spot where comfort and variety meet, with a menu leaning hard into rice plates that stretch from traditional lemongrass pork to vegetarian curries.
Highlights include the Lemongrass Chicken/Pork ($16.50), marinated and grilled just right, then paired with jasmine or brown rice and a side of stir-fried vegetables. The Vietnamese Curry Chicken ($16.50) and Vietnamese Curry Tofu ($16.50) show off the kitchen’s home-style curry base, rich and fragrant without overpowering.
For something more indulgent, the Grilled Marinated Beef Short Ribs ($19.50) hit with that classic smoky-sweet flavor, while the Vietnamese Style Fish Chops Special ($18.50) keeps it lighter with battered shrimp, fried egg, and pork chop all on one plate.
Vegetarians aren’t left out — options like the Vegetarian Curry ($16.50) or Ginger Tofu ($16.50) hold their own.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Come here if you want a neighborhood Vietnamese joint that balances meat-heavy comfort with strong vegetarian choices, all while keeping prices steady and...
Read moreI’ve owed Monkey Bridge a review for years. It’s my wife and I’s supreme “go-to”. We have been here at least 40 times, according to my bank records. I can say that, without a doubt, Monkey Bridge is my favorite restaurant in Seattle, all things considered. There are more orgasmic culinary experiences to be had for sure, but the food here makes me feel good. It’s solid, delicious Vietnamese fare done better than anywhere else I’ve had in Washington.
My two primary orders are the Beef Banh Mi with coconut water or the Vietnamese Pork Stew - which is truly outstanding. The Pho is very good if that’s what you’re looking for, but I really invite you to try the rest of the menu. I truly regret that more places don’t serve congee as a side.
My wife and I recently moved away from Seattle and honestly the only thing we miss is living five minutes from Monkey Bridge. We never learned anybody’s name and they never learned ours, but I’ll always be thankful for the years of great food, prompt service, and...
Read moreI've had phó in dozens of different locations throughout the west coast, including little Saigon in Southern California. This is hands down the best phó I've had. It's unique in its flavor. The broth is slightly sweet and balances well with the overall saltiness of the soup. For my taste, it requires no Hosin sauce or basil. They would only detract from the perfectly flavored broth.
The ingredients are fresh and simple. It's different in its flavor, but that's what makes it my favorite.
Every other dish I've had here is just as good as any Vietnamese food I've had or often better.
Update: Still after visiting many other phó shops throughout Seattle, and even after visiting Vietnam and having phó there, this is still one of my favorites. Other great local alternatives are Phó Bac Súp Shop in Central district, Long Provincial in downtown, or Phó Bac on Minor in...
