Came here for the first time on my birthday weekend, excited to finally experience the hype for myself. As a Seattle native, I’m always down to support Black-owned businesses here, as they are very few and far between. The place was extremely crowded and I did my best to stay out of the way, but was ultimately pushed around inadvertently by others coming and going. Eventually I found a little spot to stand in. Apparently the area I was in was reserved, although prior to finding that out I had asked two separate people in the immediate vicinity if it was closed off. They said no, I was good. A few minutes later a woman steps up to me, just standing and staring. I step back to let her by, but she stays put, so I apologize and step back again and gesture for her to go by. She looks me up and down, rolls her eyes, finally goes past me, stepping on my foot in the process. Turns out she was the “boss lady” (owner?), who unfortunately attempted to intimidate me instead of effectively communicating by using her big girl words. Had she informed me I was in a reserved area, in a civil way, I gladly would have apologized and moved. I spent over $120 (two tickets to get in and 2 double drinks) and was only there for about 30 minutes. I wish I could get my money back. The only plus was the bartender...

I had an unforgettable experience at Red Lounge in Seattle! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff were absolute sweethearts. My sister (who lives here) and my cousin (who was visiting) raved about this place, so I had to see what the hype was about and it did not disappoint!
The jerk chicken was next level falling off the bone and packed with flavor! I also tried ackee & saltfish for the first time and loved it. The rice & beans, fried dumplings, and golden sweet plantains were all perfect, and I washed it down with a refreshing ginger beer.
Huge shoutout to Clayton, our server, who truly saved the day. I was struggling with the menu, and whatever I wanted wasn’t available. He stepped in, picked the perfect meal for me, and even covered it because he felt bad about the situation now that’s customer service!
If you’re in Seattle and craving authentic Jamaican food, this is a must visit spot. Great food, amazing vibes, and a staff that goes above and beyond! I’ll...
Read moreMy husband who is carribean, thought that this place was a must try, when he saw his country's flag hanging up in a photo on google. The food was cool. I ate mine with a pineapple drink (must try). The restaurant was somewhat empty when we went, maybe 3 others and the place is kind of big, with a dance floor in the center and a mini stage/dj area in the corner. They do have a bar on the side. Our waiter was a sweetheart and provider exceptional service...He also informed us that they would be having dancing and game night, that night and for us to come back ( this was a Thursday). We ended up going to their after party, and it was jumpin' . Carribean/dance hall music playing and ppl out on the dance floor dancing and a live dj. There were a lot of ppl, however, I didn't see security, but I wasn't looking either (saw this mentioned on another review). My husband played dominoes with others. I had one tiny negative encounter, but that didn't ruin the night. Would I...
