Bareli's Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Secaucus

This was our first time visiting. I personally have been driving past this restaurant for many many many years and never even considered stopping in. Saturday evening I wanted to go somewhere nice with my fiancée so as I usually do I begin searching for local spots and read reviews to determine if we'd like to try something new. Barelis came up, I read reviews and looked over the menu. The menu looked very good and reviews were just as good. So we took a chance and we visited for dinner at 745pm.

We are happy to find they offer valet which is always a plus. The venue is nice, we opted to dine outside as it was a nice evening. To our surprise they had live music which is always nice but when you have someone who has an excellent selection of music, great attitude, engages with everyone and sings nicely its an amazing evening in the making. We loved it.

Now comes the biggest deal of them all. The Food and Srvice. From the moment we entered including the valet everyone was gracious and nice. They walked us over to our table and were seated in a nicely put together tent with live music. We began the evening with a Peroni beer which we'd never tried and loved. The bread was excellent and OMG the olive oil was divine. We decided NOT to order appetizers seeing others and the size of their servings it made us weary of not being able to finish.

My fiancée opted for the Lobster and Black Spaghetti which was 1000% amazing. Seriously amazing and I am the biggest fan of black squid ink pasta. This one took the cake by far. I had the Black Pepper Pasta with Short Rib Ragu and it was beyond what I was expecting. Mind you we frequent so many different restaurants and have visited over 200 in the last 2 and half yrs. But this one is so good we are making it a point to visit more frequently and make sure it's on either Wednesday or Saturdays which is when the live music is available. We loved the food, the service was fantastic and drinks were awesome. We will be back in Termintator...

Just a note to say THANK YOU for making my wife Carol's and mine 37th wedding anniversary dinner at Barelli's restaurant (July 1, 2015) as memorable as the day we were married. It was as if you knew we were going there for dinner because that's how you made us feel with every song you played and sang to. How could you have known?! Trust me when I say that I don't have a musical fiber in my whole body. Nor can I carry a tune worth a dime. But as you know, music is such that when it is played and performed by a professional entertainer such as yourself, magic seems to happen within those who do not possess such an extravagant gift from God himself. In reality, you made a grand present for us with that gift that was given to you. No doubt we will be back at Barelli's and I'll tell you why. We had a gift card in my pocket for the meal we enjoyed but you swept us away down Memory Lane so far that we forgot we even had it with us, LOL!! So we'll just have to come back again and use it. Of all the people you may personally know in your field of work, maybe I'm the only taxidermist who ever sent you an email of appreciation and I assure you it is very well deserved to say the least. Once again, thanks so much for playing your sound for us tonight, you made us fall in love all over again!!!
