its Waao! Secaucus — Restaurant in Secaucus

I have tried other banana kings in New Jersey, All of them that I have tried are basically a quick place to get a good bite to eat and they have been all excellent . This one was a sit down.Banana King They had music and atmosphere seems very good however was quite disappointed by the management here and how they handled the situation with my dinner . I ordered skirt steak.called a Churrasco King which in the photo showed a 12 ounce skirt steak with peppers and onions but when I finallly got my dinner it looked like a skinny pinchon which is more like sn appetizer not steak dinner. I talked to the management and he told me that it was 12 ounces which I know it wasn’t but they made me another “steak” I think they must have ran out of skirt steaks . The manager Said that if the steak wasn’t enough for me that they would make me another one he also said that there was only one cook in the kitchen. I have worked in restaurants and know that you don’t tell a customer these things. It is just unprofessional. I just wanted to eat my dinner that I ordered and paid for. Also, there was no onions or peppers. I pointed that out, and they did cook me that afterwards, but by this time was aggravated to say the least that I had waited over an hour for my dinner and it came out the way it did . The waiter Alvaro was very accommodating to me . I took the food to go and never ate my “steak” I do not think that I would come here or recommend this place. They really need to get their poor management together and their kitchen help. I also noticed that there was only one waiter in the whole entire place, and the place was busy. I have to add that the only waiter in the restaurant was the only one doing a good job Alvaro he was juggling all the tables there.When A customer comes into a restaurant they Just looking for a good meal and have a good service and good food. My family has eaten here at the Banana King of Secaucus multiple times. Each time has been a pleasure! The waitstaff, fantastic, friendly. They greet you and talk with you as if they are your life long friends. They are knowledgeable about what the establishment offers which is a plus if you have a question about how a meal is prepared or if you have any allergies. The food is always well cooked and delicious no matter what you order. My father who is particular picky about his seafood ( and raised in a coastal town) says that the salmon dishes from Banana King are the best he has ever eaten. This folks his high praise alone. The shakes are to die for, my new bucket list is to try each and every flavor they have. There is no favorite flavor, they are each so yummy. Also on my bucket list is to try every item on their menu. If I die from high cholesterol/obesity/diabetes from this obsession of Banana King, then so be it, it would be a noble death. Ok, I seen a couple of reviews that are saying that the food was delicious. Well, here is my review. 3 at the table and we had ordered our food. 1st person gets what they ordered. It was ok. The appetizer came out with the food by the way. Let's start with the menu. The option on the menu is fried or grilled fish with 2 sides. I ordered the grilled, so here where it start. My 2 sides was Pico de gallo with green salad. Lettuce was a but old, so was the pico de gallo. 2 dishes out with the appetizer. The 3rd dish came out 15 minutes after. Third dish was a chorizo sandwich. Spanish sausages as anyone should know you just heat it up. 1 piece of chorizo between 2 sides of bread flatten with 4 end of a tomato. It look like they ran out of tomatoes t put on a sandwich. And that took 15 minutes to make. Another thing was we went to the bar to ask for mojito and the bartender came to us and told us that the mint was bad so he couldn't make our drinks.
