I just loved our stay there. A friend went to NYC the week previous to our vacations and was complaining about the expensive and small room she booked in Manhattan. So I did my homework and read a lot of reviews for our trip. The reviews for the Best Western Plus in Secaucus were spot on! A beautiful place, close enough for easy and fast transport but far enough to avoid the chaos and the noises! The staff was super nice and helpful from the ladies at the front desk to the ones taking care of maintenance and breakfast . Even if I read all the reviews I forgot to request at the check in the sheets for the sofa bed and needed to go back to the reception to pick them up. The room was big, clean, smell good, any noise filtered from the other rooms, we had a microwave, mini fridge, coffee machine and everything worked fine. Just a small inconvenience with the sink, if you left the water running continuously it stops draining it, but we noticed the first day and just open and close it without problem, no big deal so we didn't even reported it. I read that there were a lot of people at breakfast time but honestly It didn't bother us at all. A short line to get several options available for breakfast to prepare for your day is worthy in my opinion. They condition the conference room for extra space to sit and eat in peace in case you needed. We felt safe inside and around the hotel and our car remained parked there without incident., The 1st day we went to the mall American Dream with our car since it's pretty close. 2nd day we took the ferry to Manhattan that takes you to the Pier 83 or 84 and that night we took an Uber for $47. 3rd day we took the 320 bus that stops just crossing the street from the hotel (You could buy your ticket in the machine just inside the bus stop.) and it drops you at the 42 St Port Authority Bus Terminal, next to the Grand Station to take the metro if needed. To return we went to the same place and I'll recommend you to check the screens for the Gate because Google maps had that the 320 parted from the South Gate but was actually boarding at the 316 in the North part of...

I recently stayed at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience considering I have stayed at hotels in the city for almost triple the price like Hilton, Sheraton etc... and this beats it for all the factors listed.
First and foremost, the cleanliness stood out immediately. The rooms were spotless, and the common areas were well-maintained, giving the whole place a fresh and welcoming vibe.
Safety is always a priority for me, and I felt completely secure during my stay. The hotel had a well-lit exterior, secure entry points, and the neighborhood felt safe, even during late hours.
The staff deserves special mention for their warmth and professionalism. Everyone I interacted with was incredibly friendly, attentive, and eager to assist with any needs or questions. Their positive attitude added a personal touch to the stay.
Another plus was how affordable the hotel is, especially considering it’s newly built and in such a prime location. It’s rare to find a hotel like this at such a reasonable price in New York City.
Location-wise, it’s fantastic! The hotel is just a 20-minute bus ride away from Times Square with the bus stop being literally across the street, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing and exploring New York City. Plus, the public transportation was easy to navigate, so getting around was a breeze. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a sit-down meal, you’ll find a variety of dining options close by. Additionally, there are stores like Walmart nearby, which made it super convenient for grabbing anything I needed during my stay.
The only downside I encountered was that the Wi-Fi wasn’t working during my stay. It was a bit inconvenient, especially if you need to stay connected for work or travel planning. However, with so many other great aspects of the hotel, this was a minor issue for me.
Overall, this hotel is a newly built gem – clean, safe, affordable, and perfectly located for anyone visiting NYC. Highly recommend it to travelers who want a great experience without...
Read moreI stayed at this Best Western Plus Meadowlands at 250 Harmon Mesdow during a recent trip to New York and, unfortunately, the experience was disappointing in several key areas. Upon arrival at 11 a.m., I was told there were absolutely no exceptions for early check-in and that I had to wait until 3 p.m. The same rigid policy applied to late check-out — my request for a 1 p.m. departure was also denied, not even 30 minutes granted. Claudia at the front desk handled both interactions and was neither friendly nor helpful. To be blunt, customer service like this needs improvement. If being a Best Western Rewards member offers no flexibility or recognition, it raises the question of what the benefit really is.
The breakfast setup was equally frustrating. The coffee and juice machines looked impressive with options like coffee, apple, lemonade, orange juice, and passion fruit, but most were out of order or empty. The food selection was poor — scrambled eggs with a strange taste, bacon, and bagels without cream cheese since they ran out. With coffee and other items unavailable, it felt like almost everything was “out of order.” The space itself is cramped, with guests waiting up to 30 minutes just to use the waffle machine. Overall, it’s not an enjoyable breakfast experience.
The location is another factor to consider. The hotel is about 30 minutes from Times Square, and it costs roughly $10 USD round trip each time you travel into Manhattan. Depending on how often you go, it may be more cost-effective and time-efficient to stay directly in the city instead of commuting from New Jersey.
On the positive side, the hotel room itself was fairly modern and comfortable, which is the one redeeming quality of the stay. However, the lack of flexibility, poor breakfast, unhelpful service, and distance from main attractions make it hard to recommend.
I came for a sports-themed trip to see the Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants game and was lucky to also catch the Blue Jays vs. Yankees Game 4 — both great experiences. Unfortunately, the hotel stay did not match the excitement...
