UPDATE - 11/30/22 As for my most recent visit, (2 days ago) my soda came out watery again, but my waiter this time named Hunter fixed the soda right away, he came by my table at least 5 times during my visit checking on me. He made sure everything was good. He asked if I needed anything multiple times, brought me a drink in a to go cup at the end of the meal, and I made note of his name, so I could update my review and mention the excellent service he provided. Completely opposite of my previous review service wise. I ordered my favorite again, 8oz Sirloin, Grilled Shrimp, Bourbon Glaze on the side, and Broccoli Cheese Casserole. Steak was prepared perfectly again.. The food at this location has been consistently great. ------------------------------------------ Previous Visit Early 2022. I ordered the 8oz Sirloin Steak with Grilled Shrimp, Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli & Cheese Casserole. I was concerned about a wait, but was seated after less than 10 minutes. I arrived for a late dinner at about 9pm. Once seated however I waited about 5 minutes before anyone came to my table. I ordered my drink and food at the same time, and it was about another 5 minutes or so before my drink was brought to me. The food arrived after about 15 minutes. The steak was ordered medium well, and it was medium rare. Im used to ordering medium rare and getting a steak that is under-cooked, overcooked, or chewy. This steak was not only cooked properly throughout but had excellent flavor from the seasoning rub on the outside. This was a steak that could be eaten without any kind of sauce whatsoever. The broccoli and cheese casserole was also great. It had the flavor of homemade broccoli cheese and rice that my family serves up at a Christmas or Thanksgiving dinner. The mashed potatoes were creamy but still had small chunks and peels. They had a butter and garlic flavor and needed to seasoning (salt/pepper). Lastly was the shrimp on a bed of rice. I was a bit disappointed by the number of shrimp (4). But they were grilled without any grill marks or burnt flavor and seasoned with a red seasoning I assume was some mixture of (paprika, cayenne & salt) that really gave them a kick. My meal as a whole was excellent, but refills on my drink were sparse, I had to ask for one, and my waitress only returned once during my meal. I had to wait about 10 minutes after finishing for the waitress to bring my check. Aside from the sparse table service my Coke was the worst item I ordered, it was watery. For my first visit, the food was excellent. Id put the quality of the food up in the top places I've eaten in the last year.. Which is why despite the lack of service by the waitress I am still giving this review 5 stars rather than 4. If I return, which I probably will due to the excellent food, I will make the choice to deduct a star if the service fails to meet expectations again.

First off - NO MILITARY DISCOUNTS! (keep reading how they decide this) After hearing so many rave talks about this restaurant, I brought my daughter here for her birthday. Disappointed. I ordered the chicken fried steak dinner & she had Chicken Alfredo. There was more batter than steak, which mostly fell apart with every cut of the knife. The green beans had a distinctive "sweet" taste which was unusual as opposed to an expected buttery & well seasoned/savory flavor. They were also watery & appeared to be canned, large green beans, definitely not fresh. My daughter enjoyed her meal & our food was served hot. What drove this review to a 1 star rating besides my dinner was the service & overall experience. My chicken fried steak was average & comparable to a cafeteria-type quality. Next, our server. After waiting for 15 minutes he arrived & was very lack-, luster. An obvious, not thrilled to be at work today. Perhaps, he's going through something or not feeling well. But when I watch how he interacted & served other diners, it was obvious his attitude was different with us. We had to ask for drink refills, ask for togo boxes, etc. I requested an ice tea togo with lemon & it's brought to me with the lemon sitting on the lid which was carried by our servers hand over the lemons😳. How is this proper food handling? Never have I ever got the lemon slices requested with my tea sitting on top of the lid. When I inquired about a military discount, his explanation blew me away... "Yes, we do BUT it depends on the manager." .... WHAT!???? It depends!? What does that mean? "Its up to each manager whether or not they give a discount off of the ticket or if they decide to give you a FREE chips & queso card." Immediately, my son & daughter look at me confused as well. WHY does it depend? Depend on what? The weather? Depend on the managers mood? Depends on whether it not they want to give an appetizer or not? What the heck is? What kind of business practice is this???? We live in Military City, USA. I will not be returning. First time & the last time. I drove past MANY food establishments for this mediocre dining experience. "Free chips & queso"??? Like the free chips & queso you already get for asking me to sign up at your table kiosk. Military Members don't expect a Military Discount, decent food & good service.

We visited Cheddar's on Easter Sunday. It was busy but surprisingly we were able to get in right away. When we were seated, at a booth that was too small, we immidiately noticed the table was sticky and dirty. The flickering light above the table caused a member of our party to feel dizzy and hindered her ability to read the menu. It caused me to have a headache as well. The night only got better when we discovered dirty flatware with someone else's salad left on it. When we asked to be seated somewhere larger and we were told that our server could not move us because everything else was not in his section. There were 5 empty tables the entire visit that he could have moved us too but apparently that would be too hard. And while he offered a different booth because of the obnoxiously tight space it wasn't going to help. The floor was also observed to be dirty. The croissant at the beginning of the meal were okay. Some were under done but edible. The Buffalo chicken wrap was lacking. It reminded me of a fast food wrap that I had at Wendy's once. It was cheap and unimpressive. The chicken tenders were under seasoned and nothing exciting. The side of corn off the cob was lame. I'm sorry but a quarter cup of corn from a can is always going to be underwhelming. The dejon chicken dish with mushrooms looked like it came from a can and appeared to be frozen and regrilled. The sauce was over sweet and did not pair with the seasoning used on the chicken. The mushrooms were rubbery. The rice was mushy and disappointing. Plating was lackluster... Sauce dripping off the side of the plate is simply sloppy. All in all the experience left me disappointed. Maybe next time I'll go to the frozen section of the grocery story and get a hungry man. I'm sure I can sit at my kitchen table, shove it against the wall and then pour some dirt and syrup on my kitchen table to replicate the experience.

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen - A Palatable Combination of Flavor and Value

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen is a delightful dining spot that has become one of my favorite go-to restaurants for a satisfying meal. With its welcoming atmosphere and delicious food, Cheddar's offers a unique dining experience that genuinely feels like homemade comfort food.

At first glance, Cheddar's has a warm and inviting ambiance, featuring a cozy interior with wooden accents and an open kitchen. The staff are always pleasant and attentive, creating a welcoming environment from the moment you step through the door.

What sets Cheddar's apart from other chain restaurants is their focus on scratch-made dishes. Their commitment to preparing meals from fresh ingredients showcases their dedication to quality and taste. The extensive menu offers a wide variety, ranging from classic burgers and sandwiches to mouthwatering steaks and seafood options.

One of my personal favorites is the Chicken Tender Platter – a generous serving of crispy, golden-brown chicken tenders accompanied by hand-cut fries and coleslaw. The tenders are consistently tender and flavorful, a perfect combination of crispy coating and juicy chicken inside. The fries are perfectly seasoned, and the coleslaw adds a refreshing touch to the plate.

Another standout dish is the Monte Cristo sandwich. Packed with layers of ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese, the sandwich is dipped in a light batter and then fried to golden perfection. Served with a side of raspberry preserves, this sweet and savory creation is a delectable indulgence worth savoring.

Cheddar's also offers a variety of homemade desserts, including their signature Cookie Monster and Hot Fudge Cake. These treats are the perfect ending to a fantastic meal, and it's hard to resist the allure of their rich and decadent flavors.

In terms of value, Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen truly shines. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are reasonable, making it an excellent choice for families or individuals looking for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank.

While Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen consistently delivers on taste and value, there are minor areas where improvement could be made. Occasionally, the service can be a bit slow during peak hours, resulting in longer waiting times. However, the staff remains friendly and accommodating throughout the experience.

Overall, Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen provides a delightful dining experience filled with homemade goodness. From their commitment to scratch-made dishes to their inviting atmosphere, it is clear that Cheddar's is dedicated to satisfying its customers. With its wide variety of menu options and reasonable prices, this restaurant has rightfully secured a spot as a favorite among...

1/16/25 Had to add onto my previous review because I had another bad experience tonight. Took the wife out for a nice easy meal on a Thursday night at 9pm, place closes at 10pm. Thought I would try something different and went with the lemon pepper chicken with red beans and rice and bacon cheddar mashed potatoes. Food comes and it's cold. Isn't one of the first things a waiter usually tells you is WATCH OUT, HOT PLATE COMING THROUGH?? But the plate was already cold by the time she was handing it to me. Red beans and rice are terrible if they aren't steaming hot, like eating chunks of raw playdoh. Only could stomach a few bites. The mashed potatoes were similarly cold and blah. I asked the waitress for a plate of fries instead because I couldn't eat my two sides and she brings me a plate of already cold fries and tells me THESE FRIES JUST CAME OUT. Terrible. The manager was nice enough to come talk to my wife and I. She listened to my feedback about my meal, my wife's was hot and delicious of course. Gave us a 10% discount which amounted to 4 dollars off a 40 dollar bill, and a free slice of carrot cake to go. This was her third shift after transferring down from an Austin location and was very pleasant and understanding. I just hate that it's been a running theme lately of going to places that used to be easy slam dunks and having them fall the eff off.

A bad experience at a place you expect to be better, even for a chain restaurant that's a little pricier than most. Service was worse than I've had at smaller dive restaurants. Take drinks, which I consider one of the hallmarks of a good waiter. Waiter was distracted when taking our order and took forever to bring our drinks. No offer of refills, which I always hate because I drink a lot while I eat due to stomach issues. You know, I only went to this place for the ribs. If you haven't had them before, DO IT! They are beautiful and fall off the bone like a young bride's wedding gown on her wedding night. They are unbelievable! It pissed me off because I order a full rack and was excited. The waiter comes back later to say, Oh whoops, I just heard we are out of ribs... My dreams were shattered. Yeah, yeah, I know it's not his fault, but it really rubbed me the wrong way. Idk, maybe it was his attitude or something. I honestly didn't even know what else to order because my heart was set on ribs. I ordered the chicken parmesan tenders or whatever that sub-par dish was. Then the waiter has the nerve to come by and ask, hey you came for the ribs, is that better?? Like when you're in the mood to buy a Porsche and the dealer goes, Nope we all out, but we got a Nissan. Very disappointing meal on what should have been an easy slam dunk of a...
