So I'm a SERIOUS crafter, and I have been to this particular store on many different occasions and here's my take on the quality of their service.
The employees most often do NOT smile at you, particularly when walking in the door and upon arriving to the cash registers.
The employees dont know much about the products they sell, except for a select few ( I'm talking the managers who've worked there longer than a month) so forget any product information you might want that you can't get off the label of an item.
They make it hard for you to return stuff and then repurchase, the other day i wanted to EXCHANGE an item for something else in the store that was a higher price, but instead of applying the balance (from the returned item) they HAVE to return it, to your card instead of them just turning around and using it towards your new balance. I've never had a store act like this, you already have my freaking money why cant you apply it to what i want to take home! (according to the General Manager of the store this is a company wide policy, yeah what a great idea....make it harder for your customers to shop, that'll motivate me to keep spending my hard earned money at your store...sureee)
So you might want to think twice before you go in to this store or any hobby lobby (i've been a serious crafter for the last ten years and this is consistent behavior from them unfortunately, consistently BAD service), cuz if you need help...good luck, you're probably going to encounter people who dont want to help you, and make you feel like your a pain in the butt for asking where something is, or how something is supposed to be used, even though you buying stuff at their store pays their salary, they apparently aren't even smart enough to understand that concept.
I also called the corporate offices of this store to tell them about my experiences and they DONT CARE AT ALL (big suprise). I left a detailed complaint similar to what you see here and that was like 2 weeks ago, still i have had no contact from anyone at the corporate level. So I'm using my consumer power, I will NEVER shop here again, and i hope more people who have similar experiences do the same. The only way to get them to change is to financially motivate them to make a change. Silence is...
Read moreWe ordered a custom picture framed at roughly $200.00 & the 1st problem was the error in correctly writing down my phone number. I never received a call from the store that my picture was ready, I had to inquire. When arriving in the store, we were greeted at the door half heartedly. Upon arriving in the framing department, waiting & waiting ... a young dark haired girl walks out like we are bothering her, holds up the picture from across the counters & abruptly says let's go up front. About halfway up to the registers my husband says we should look that over before we pay for it. I called to the girl who was way past us that I wanted to look over it, when I was reaching out she told me that I couldn't touch it! I informed her that until I could look it over I would not be paying for it. She then wanted me to walk all the way to the back again to look it over. My husband replied no I will look at it at the front. She said, I need to speak to a manager. Not sure what about but she ran off the call one. We got in line to pay as we did not have a lot of time. She walked over with another lady, whom was very polite, & spouted snidely that she offered for us to look at it. Then when we said no you didn't, she became super snotty, lying & saying that she did & that my husband was aggressive. My husband us THE LEAST aggressive person I know! Manager was called & he basically said oh I'll talk to her. Somehow I didn't believe this was her first mouthy interaction with a customer. Too bad that you rely on customers because we will NOT EVER be back . I love alerting others about stores to love and stores to avoid! This would be...
Read moreThe employees were very kind to me on this visit -- well they always are, but specifically this day because it was my birthday and honestly they didn't even know it was my birthday, but the store manager was an older fellow and there were several other workers diligently trying to ring everybody up (at least 15 last minute shoppers being rung last minute, whoops!) and get out of there -- it was like 5 minutes to close.
Well I got up to my turn and I didn't have my wallet because I'm used to using only my digital wallet on my phone, I mean its 2024, however, unfortunately they did not take tap to pay so I had to call my husband to come and help me out with a physical card. I was incredibly anxious about the social interaction coupled with potentially not being able to buy what I had picked out because I was at the cash register and it was now 8:00 pm (close).
I asked the cashier if there was any chance that she could hold on just a second while my husband received our already-ordered-food from the drive-thru and crossed the parking lot from Chick-fil-A. So, she nervously flagged the General Manager over to her register to ask him directly....
Well, the man then graciously allowed me to hold them and it was about 10 minutes past 8:00 pm by the time hubs got to me so that I could pay for my items. It seems like not a big deal, but I know how it can be during these times when there are customers still being served after hours and I really appreciated this gesture and patience because, as I said previously, it was my birthday and I barely made it in time to grab something from my favorite store to finish a project...
