Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Sevierville

We love Freddy’s. We love it so much that we came an hour before close tonight for custard and were informed they were not serving custard. 30 minute drive. 😡. Not cool.

7/6/23-update- we gave it another shot tonight and sadly were disappointed again. Let me express how much we absolutely love Freddy’s food…we have been driving 50 minutes to Seymour for 3 years. We were so excited to have one closer but this location needs to shape up. We’ve been there 4 times total. 3/4 we have waited upwards of 20 minutes in the drive thru. The other time (that prompted my initial review) we’re told they weren’t serving custard. Freddy’s has amazing burgers, fries and custard. It’s unlike any other fast food you’ll get. But, these employees here need trained desperately. The first 2 visits our fry boxes were only half full and there was so much ice in the cups we had hardly anything to drink. Next visit turned away an hour before closing because they weren’t serving custard. Last night we went at 7:00. We pulled up and the girl at the drive thru couldn’t understand what we wanted (simple order-3 sundaes) and kept repeating it back wrong. Finally we drive forward to wait 22 minutes from the time we ordered before we got our food. Our regular size sundaes were half full with hardly any toppings. I’ve had the signature turtle sundae many times and it’s never looked like this ☹️ half full with a tablespoon of toppings all on me side. This is $1.50 worth…not $5.19! When we pulled up to the window we saw at least 6 employees and half or more were standing conversing while 2 male employees were pushing and shoving each other acting silly. Where is management at this...

First time eating here and probably my last. It's your typical fast food environment with the appeal of more than just the standard hamburger and fries. I like to try new places to eat and was excited about all the menu options here. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and fries. If you like shoestring fries these are great. I don't care for this type of fry but didn't realize they were shoestring until getting my food. Preference aside, they were cooked just right with a bit of crispiness and had a good flavor. The spicy chicken sandwich was underwhelming but looked pretty. My husband got the onion rings and they were very crunchy but lacking in flavor to us. The french fry sauce has a mild taste, like the mayo and ketchup everyone used to mix together back in highschool. When I got my order there was a hair in the fries but the staff was very apologetic and remade it with no questions asked. No one wants to find that in their food but unfortunately it can happen sometimes. I certainly don't think it was done intentionally. All of the workers I could see appeared to be very clean individuals also. The food here just didn't suit my tastes. Nothing stood out and there was nothing that made me want to return for more; however, this is just my preference. Overall, it was a very clean place, the workers were nice, there wasn't a long wait for the food, and they had a large selection of menu options including a variety of custard with toppings for dessert. This is a busy but very well-run location. Even during peak times, the restaurant was clean, organized, and operating smoothly. I really liked the retro 1950s diner feel, with its red and white color scheme and checkered accents—it adds a fun, classic touch. There’s plenty of seating, with a good number of tables and booths that comfortably accommodate the crowd.

While this is a counter-service setup, the staff worked well together and kept things moving efficiently. Even with a steady stream of customers, our food came out quickly and was made exactly as we ordered, including a modified burger with no onions. That kind of accuracy during busy hours is always appreciated.

I ordered the Freddy’s Original Steakburger Combo, which comes with two thin, crispy-edged patties and melted cheese—classic smashburger style, and full of flavor. We also got a single Freddy’s Original with no onions, and it was prepared perfectly.

For sides, we had tater tots and shoestring fries, both served hot and crispy. They also offer cheese curds and onion rings, which gives you a nice variety to choose from. While I didn’t try any custard this time (not really my thing), the dessert options looked well-made and popular with other guests.
