Lots of good reviews and I can't understand why.
We had a Reuben sandwich, fries, and vegetable soup. The sandwich had only a thin layer of meat so essentially what we actually got was a cheese, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing sandwich. The other problems with it were it was not hot but barely warm and toasted dry using no butter. It probably sat a while before it was given to us.
Next, the vegetable soup. Again this was delivered barely warm, nowhere close to hot. It looked like it consisted of celery, onions, something orange that might have been carrots, something white that was either pasta or rice but could not identify and olive oil drizzled on top. The olive oil was poured on top...not just a drizzle. The oil layer was so thick we stuck a piece of bread into it and it was fully coated in oil. The cold soup turned out to be so gross we couldn't eat any of it.
The fries. They were very good. They were hot and tasted really good. BUT...there were not enough of them. Plus they were not included therefore you had to pay a couple of bucks for what amounted to half a medium potato. Oh, the pickle was free but we were given only half a pickle.
With a tip it cost about 25 bucks. Very, very cheap on everything as they charge a lot for what you really get. We felt cheated and the food was far...
Read moreI went to this place on vacation from a referral. I ordered 2 sunrise bowls $20 a piece (all it is is a bunch of spinach on the bottom with a warm egg on top with a 2" piece of reindeer sausage, and 2 tsp of fried potatoe ) and hot chocolate and it was watered down, I asked for more cocoa to be added and the employee put in a cheap tsp more like the lights were getting shut off or something. Then on top of that, they took the lid off (where I put my mouth) with the palm of their hand and was gonna put it back on the cup. They were on the cash register and all over the place touching stuff, eeeh. Then my husband asked the cashier if they had salad dressing and they told him no. (so they expect us to eat dry salad). Then he asked someone from the kitchen and they said yes, so they do. No seasoning on the eggs, plain. I should have spent my $55 somewhere else. The staff has no MOJO to be 1st friendly nor 2nd HELPFUL. Acted like a burden to be asked anything and no a cheap place to eat. Expected better service and...
Read moreWe stopped here for breakfast during a stay in Seward. The food was delicious and most of the staff was friendly but the woman taking orders was very rude, which is why I’m giving this four stars.
My mom’s allergic to a bunch of things so there was only one thing on the breakfast menu she could order and they were out of it. We arrived around 9:10 and they open at 9 so we were surprised they were already out of a main menu item. My mom politely asked if she could make substitutions on the menu and the woman right away got her back up and said no, this is our menu. My mom explained she was allergic to most of the options so the woman very begrudgingly let her make an order that was off menu but was annoyed and rude about it. I get if you don’t want to go off menu but don’t be rude about it. My mom was really nice and the woman could have nicely responded explaining they don’t like to do...
