I brought my daughter in with my mother in law this past Sunday. We also went Saturday and had a great visit. I wish I could say the same for Sunday. The cashier was extremely rude. My daughter is a 5 years old with autism who happens to be non verbal. She is a CANDY LOVER! She was in Heaven and so well behaved. Behind the counter they have a section of stuffed animals she was looking at. A few feet over is where the cashier was. My daughter was looking at the stuffed animals patiently waiting for her bag as the girl Saturday immediately gave it to her full of her toys and candy. Sunday the lady just wouldnāt give her the bag until it was paid for which okay I understand. The issue didnāt come until my daughter found a mini tube of m&ms she is obsessed with. She was so excited she found them and tried to give them to the cashier in which she completely ignored my child. Then my child went around the back didnāt even make it past the stuffed animals (me in tow closely behind her) when the cashier started screaming āNO DO NOT COME BACK HEREā at this point me and my mother in law were shocked because she was just in the same spot looking at the toys. My daughter was holding the m&ms out trying to give it to the cashier and the cashier become VERY visibly frustrated as Iām gathering my daughter. The cashier didnāt even give me an opportunity to tell my daughter to wait the cashier sighed very deeply rolled her eyes slammed the bag she was holding down. She then grabbed my daughters wrist snatched the candy out of her hand yelled at her āI told you to not come back here GOā and forcibly turned my daughter around by her wrists to which completely crushed my daughter.. we are avid visitors to this candy shop as we go every single time multi times when we are in town. We will not be back due to this incident. In a place where your main customers are children with their parents this is UNACCEPTABLE⦠especially to an innocent child who doesnāt even have a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWish I had a better experience here, but it was abysmal. It started off on the wrong foot when I brought my little brother who has a dye allergy and they had no nutritional facts or information on any of the candies that you can buy in bulk. When we finally found someone to ask about it, they seemed beyond confused when we asked if they had any information on ingredients. We had to try wording the question several different ways just to try to determine if they could give us any information on allergens in the candles. Then, we can talk about pricing. A few boxes of saltwater taffy (I think 4 of the small boxes) cost us OVER $100. I was shocked when we got to the register but had no choice but to purchase. The taffy wasnāt worth it in the slightest. The workers here all seemed miserable and no one tried to talk to us - it was honestly just an awkward experience. The only saving grace here was that my little brother was able to find som pre-packaged peelable candy thatās super trendy online right now and it had the nutritional information already on it so we knew it was safe for him to eat. Overall, Iād skip the hassle of this place and just order the same stuff on Amazon for a fraction...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI expected the store to smell like candy, and was a little disappointed it didn't. Also, what you stick in those little bags can add up quickly, so be aware and be warned. The shop is filled top to bottom with a wide variety of brightly colored confections. My grandchildren and daughter and son-in-law, for that matter, seemed to have the time of their lives checking every nook and cranny for a little of this and that. We ended up with nice variety that each let the others sample . Everything was good and fresh. Three weeks later, I'm still enjoying the box of saltwater taffy, which I packed myself to only include what sounded good. It's still soft and chewy and makes me think of the beach! I can see why my daughter and her family make this a Holden Beach...
