Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Shawnee

Okay, there are two parts to this.

1. My soda was terrible they had to replace something... took the waitress like 10 minutes to bring me my drink back... While she was away doing whatever, someone else brought out our appetizer... I told my wife to go ahead and take the ranch, I'll get a different one, so when our waitress brought out my drink finally, she said she was looking for the appetizer to bring it, but someone else beat her to it, and laughed, which was okay with me, but she asked if I need anything else, I said yes please, another side of Ranch, she said, okay, got it, I'll bring you some Ranch right out. another 10 minutes when bye, I started looking around and another waitress seen me looking and asked if I needed help. I said yes, I've been waiting for a long time for some Ranch, but our waitress has disappeared. So she went and got some for me and it only took her like 1 minute. Our waitress never did show up with any, nor mention it, like if she just forgot. So then our Food comes out. We ordered Ribeye Steak. She did bring it out but asked me if I would like any steak sauce, so I said sure bring me some A1, if the steak is great, I won't need it, but bring it in case I do want some. She said, "Okay, I'll go get you some A1", again, she vanished. Thank God the Steak was fantastic. In fact, that Steak being so good is why I even decided to leave this review. Because I wanted to say how GREAT the Steak was, and while the Waitress was very nice, she did a terrible job at bringing us stuff. So I gave 2 stars instead of 1, because to me, the food is only 1 part of 5 things.

The Food was Amazing. The Friendliness was great too. The other 3 is why the other 3 stars are missing. I give the food 5 stars across the board!! That Steak was very impressive!!! I give their Friendliness 5 stars as well. Speed I give 1/2 of only 1 star. The Accuracy I give only 1 star and the Cleanliness around me, I give 2 stars. The restuarant did look clean, but I was next to a window area, and that was very dirty looking... there was even a dead fly right there on it.

Then at the end, it took probably 20 minutes to pay for our visit. That was the hardest part and why I did not just forgive the rest for how amazing the Ribeye was.

Overall, will I go back? Yes. The food was worth everything. Do I recommend that meal? Oh Yeah!! Do I recommend the restaurant? Sure, give it a try. The food is worth it.

From the moment we walked through the door, I would have to say that our experience at this Chili’s location was the most pleasant visit that my husband and I have EVER had in a restaurant. No lies, hands down. We were greeted with genuine professionalism and courtesy from every team member we encountered, start to finish. Our service professional was Davin, and he was sublime! He was professional, funny and patient, never “forgot” about us or was too busy for us - which I thought was pretty amazing, considering that every single table in the restaurant was occupied. We received our orders quickly and everything was so well cooked - my husband’s pasta was al dente and my steak and broccoli were perfection. It may seem odd to gush about a Chili’s, but friends, I could not be more sincere. When I looked around, I noticed that the staff were all smiling, moving with purpose, and seemed to be very happy to be a part of this team - communicating with each other on the floor and performing their duties with pride and a fluidity I haven’t seen before. This Shawnee location is special - a well oiled machine and a completely cohesive team! Chili’s is our favorite restaurant and we’ve been to many - but we have never had service OR food at the level that this store and staff provided for us.

My wife & I had to get out of the house after receiving news that my brother passed away early Saturday morning back home in N.J. I was a little upset . When we ordered our drinks & food my wife let one of the employees serving our table know of my loss. I guess she didn't want anyone wondering why I was upset. Well word got around. I had several employees give me their condolences. They really cared !! After our meal we received our bill. The young woman said that it was taken care of and presented me a card with 🌶️ emblem on it signed by the manager and approximately 20 employees 🙂🙂. She then gave me a friendly hug (she asked my wife if it was ok) 😊and again wish me well I didn't know any of them but they wished me well as part of the Chili's family 👍🥹🥹. That was the kindest thing and it put some faith back in my fellow human beings. I left there feeling sad but also happy. I will be a future customer. Not all about the food but for people that had comfort me in my time of greif. I hope these wonderful people will be there on my next visit when it will be happier time's. I left there sad yet happy. The food was good but the people & card were excellent.. Great people. Eddie & Cheryl..........
