Art & Jake's Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Shelby Charter Township

To start out with we sat there for 10 minutes until the hostess who originally sat us and was walking by from seating others asked if we been helped yet and we said no and then our server finally comes over with mild attitude because she had to be told we were there apparently. Our server was continually absent we asked 3 other people for things we needed like plates after our appetizer was dropped off. I grabbed our to go boxes myself eventually because they were on a ledge near us and got tired of staring at my food eating just cuz it was there. The Detroit Mac N Cheese is a must have, loaded with bacon and brisket sun dried tomatoes, was delicious and you get a ton of it! The Asiago Cruncher Sandwich, not so great. Dry, not toasted enough bun, not enough sauce, not crunchy. The floor under our table looked like someone ate right off it, pretty bad when you don't wanna even touch it with the bottom of your shoes. They have a television at each table it looked like, with there own remote which was cool, watched some impractical jokers while we hung out. The fried pickles are gigantic biggest I have ever seen, and there was a LOT of them for $9, enough for 4 people. Only problem being so big is they need more batter, these were thinly battered and because of the size you felt like you just ate mostly pickle. Came to art&jakes at the recommendation by friends, I must say I have not had a bad restaurant experience in a long time. We were seated promptly by the very friendly hostess everyone in the front end was extremely friendly. After being seated this is when the service went down hill. Our waitress Ashley R brought drinks. But took forever to return to take our orders. About 20 mins for her to come take the orders. She left and the drinks sat empty. She returned another 20 min later and refilled our drinks. One person in our party switched from tea to coke. Food comes out looks great but Ashley never gave us silverware we had to flag her down and ask for some. Again food tasted great everything was delicious. After we were done we waited 30min for the bill I was looking to pay but Ashley did not return me and my party proceeded to the front of the house where we ashes the hostess to speak to the manager. Where this heavyset bearded male comes out and ask “what can I help you with” we ashes to be cashed out”. He never asked if there was any issues with food or service. He proceeds to find Ashley to cash us out. Ashley then brings us our cashed out tab with an attitude. Needless to it was my first and last time coming to this establishment. I think the manager and server could use some retraining in customer service. Keep in mind people in our party work as waitresses and we tip heavily when we go out to eat because of this.

UPDATE: STILL NO CALL FROM MANAGEMENT ALMOST 10 DAYS LATER!!! MY WHOLE FAMILY WAS EMBARRASSED!!! Was accosted by the waitress, when she ran out the building like we didn't pay, because she claimed she gave us the wrong bill. If it wasn't my twins' birthday I would have went to mgmt so fast!!!! Like not only were we the only black ppl there, but to be ran up to outside and embarrassed like that AFTER fully paying & tipped this chic 30 bucks! We were there well over 10 mins AFTER I paid so she had ample time & opportunity to come back to our table. After catching up to my family, she says "the bill you paid wasn't actually your bill it was the table beside you so yeah you actually owe more". I didn't do an itemized audit of the bill, as I never do and just look at the total, just paid it and tipped. She didn't show what the difference was nor did she give me a copy of receipt so for all I know, she was lying! I just pulled out another 50, then she had the nerve to ask me if I wanted change. If I wasn't already upset, I would've told her to give me my change and my tip back but all I wanted at that moment was her out of my face!!
