Ethel's Baking Co. — Restaurant in Shelby Charter Township

I have had the pecan dandy many times, always individually wrapped. Absolutely delicious. I get them at a local, high-end specialty store. Yesterday, I saw the 3 pack, so I got those. Excited to have one, I opened it up to a terrible chemical smell. The taste was just as bad. I have never returned anything to this store, but for $15, I wasn't keeping an inedible dessert. They inspected the dandy and noticed the taste and smell. They exchanged them but the replacement wasnt much better. I dont know if there is a packaging issue, or a production problem but this product is not fit for consumption. This place was our GREATEST! find for all the goodies for our visiting grandchildren, who are healthy gluten free eaters. The lady at our service, was every bit an expert in her craft. She seemed like she was an absolute rule follower as that she mentioned no outside lunches or anything was allowed in her bakeshop, and that is so important!! and may I add that she was very passionate with her craft, as she explained all of her product to us in entirety. I must say when I first tried Ethels gluten-free products I was so impressed even though I thought they were extraordinarily expensive. Since my first encounter, I've had several others and the price keeps going up. I recently purchased three pack of gluten-free dandies, and they were over $10.
