Joe's and I have been following each other now on Instagram for a couple months. I happened to be in the area the other day and so decided to stop in to grab some food. Being that this was my first time and I am not always in the area, I stocked up on some goods. I ordered an Italian sub on soft bread, Italian muffalata, pepperoni and cheese hot roll, eclair, cannoli, chocolate chip butter cookies, and a ding dong. The hot roll to heat up took about 15 minutes. While I was waiting, a couple others came in to pick up some carry outs and a door dash guy. They weren't super busy, but were clearly had things going on in the back to get orders out. The door dash guy pretty much ruined the pleasant atmosphere in there. He kept whining that the order was taking a bit longer than expected to the woman behind the counter who happened to be the manager. She could not control the time it took for the hot food in the back to be ready, yet all he did was cry about how they were affecting his ratings. Aside from the big whiny baby door dash guy, I thought the employees were very nice and helpful.
The Italian sub was good but average. I felt like it was missing something, like more dressing, but overall decent. The muffalata was pretty good. I really like the side of peppers I got with it which really elevated the taste. The pep and mozz hot roll was excellent. a TAD bit too much butter slathered on, but overall it was delicious! For the desserts, the eclair was by far the best tasting dessert. You can tell it was homemade and was a good size. The butter cookies were great too and I wish I ordered more. The cannoli was average. The cream filling was great, but the shell was slightly soggy. The ding dong was just something extra that I ordered after my initial order. My boyfriend thought it was too sweet for him, but I enjoyed it. It is something you certainly cannot eat in one sitting, but I really loved the chocolate ganache on the outside. All the food I ordered (including a bottle of water) came to about $40 total. I did not think this was bad at all considering everything I did order and the fact that many of the items are homemade. Of course if you order thru a food delivery service the prices are more on the apps, but in store they were priced fair.
Overall, I was happy with our order and will be back to try...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI chose Joeās Italian take out because I had burned so many calories riding my mountain bike. Large amounts of carbs is surely what I needed.
They had a great variety on their menu and it didnāt take long to get it to my truck and headed to the hotel. I got to the parking lot and decided to eat in the parking lot because it was so nice out......but there was one problem. No utensils were provided.
Fear not, Iāve watched many episodes of Man vs Wild and Bear Grylls taught me a thing or two. I was able to eat my side salad like a delectable nacho plate. You can easily dunk your cucumbers and full leaves of lettuce in you dressing of choice, as long as your choice is ranch or Italian. The side of pasta that I assumed I would put under my chicken parmigiana had to get devoured by itself. I found a pocket knife in my bag but the noodles were just cooked to perfection. Stabbing each of them just shredded them and I had to turn to scooping them one at a time out of the container. The sauce had to be left behind so I didnāt slice my tongue open licking the freshly sharpen knife. I finally got to the two hearty chicken breasts smothered in cheese and more pasta sauce. I tried to be as civilized as I could by cutting small pieces and stabbing them with a force that OJ Simpson would be jealous of. This turned into an issue when I realized I was cutting the foil pan and leaking sauce everywhere. I had no other choice than to use the two forks that my mom gave me when I was born. I picked up that chicken breast and ate it like I had been homeless for years. I had sauce and cheese everywhere but guess what? No napkins either. Good thing Iām a hoarder and had an ample supply of gas station napkin in the center console.
The lemonade did come with a straw if you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery nice little place that feels like a mix of a deli and bakery. I pulled in the parking lot to look up a chinese place for dinner and realized they were still open but were closing in 15 minutes. My daughter and i LOVE cannolis and trying them from different places is kind of a thing we have together. We went inside, hoping to just get 1 or 2 to try out. when we went inside, they had one left in the case. With only 15 minutes before closing, they were kind enough to make us 4 Nice and fresh. I try not being that last person at the end of the day coming in asking for stuff because I know people want to go home and see their families. I have to say, Some of the best cannolis i've had in a while. The shell was just right, firm, but not too hard. It offered just the right fried texture to complement the rucota cheese And you could tell the almonds were hand chopped. My mom is old school Italian, so I look forward to giving her the one I saved for her tomorrow. We've tried a lot of cannoli, and out of all the places we've tried It's hard to pick a definitive winner but my daughter and I agreed there without a doubt in the top 2. The lady who presented them to us was very sweet and greeted us with a genuine smile. I really appreciated her kind attitude towards me and my kids. Especially as the last customers of the day. I've been wanting to try this place for a while but, when I get off work, they're usually pretty close to close to closing but knowing they're open later on fridays I plan to come back to try the ravioli next week. Even with just this one interaction, I definitely recommend stopping in at joe's...
