Date night experience yet definitely a place that welcomes families (including those with young kids). An early Saturday night (about 5:30 pm or maybe a little later) and the place was active. Hostess alerted us to 30 minute wait, took our phone number and offered us a chance to either relax at the bar or sit by the welcoming fireside lounge. We chose the bar but before our order was complete, the hostess found us and offered a hightop by the patio door - chose the table but the night was chilly and the door was open plus it was right behind a group that was enjoying themselves at the bar. The hostess was really nice and offered us a low table that looked as if had appeared by magic - great. Our waitress was really pleasant, had recommendations when we asked, and she was good at her job. Our orders were placed, my date (my husband) had a filling bowl of clam chowder for starters - which he loved. Again, very smart waitress brought me a spoon so I could try the soup. It was a big portion filled to the brim and again very good. We ordered a reuben for hubby, and a beef tip and cheese melt for me; both came with a choice of sides. We chose onion rings. Platters arrived in a timely yet not rushed manner. Nice size portions; at first I thought my portion was small, but looks can be deceiving. I ate only half and brought the rest home; my husband was full from the soup and chose to bring his meal home. The onion rings were nicely portioned and done well. We had our drinks from the bar - large, and very good. Bartender was generous, and mixed the drinks well. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and really watched to make sure that we were enjoying our meal without being pushy. Although we were through with our dinner we relaxed with another drink for my husband as I finished mine. I splurged, and ordered dessert. It seemed to take a while but we were in no rush. After (what we thought) a reasonable amount of time, we checked on our dessert. Again, great waitress, assured us that she had placed the order but wanted us to relax. No worries as we were truly there for a nice date night, and the dessert wasn't a concern. After the waitress went to the kitchen to check on our dessert, I believe it was a manager came by to our table. He asked if we were waiting on the dessert - maybe Anita made a bigger deal about it than we did, and assured us it was coming and it was on him. We replied, "No worries. We are having a great time, our waitress is the best." In a few minutes, the dessert came out with we think another manager who again apologized - no need as we were not unhappy. At the end of the meal, Anita, brings us our check and apologizes for dessert once more...this is getting embarrassing. I finally asked, "Did we look upset? We are not upset." She assured me that the staff only wanted to make sure we were happy. Yes, we were happy. My only advice to diners, and would be diners is this. Take your time to relax at the bar or in the lounge area by the fire. DO NOT take the table that we took - it was a low table that was in direct line of traffic from the waitstaff by the kitchen and other diners. It is not a good area for people with long legs as you have to keep adjusting your legs to keep out of the way. Let the hostess know that you'd like the high booths on the side as you are out of the way and the booths are open so you can observe the room. The other thing you want to be aware of is the noise level. It may have been where we were sitting; however, the noise was like surround sound so it was difficult to hear. We finally - almost right before we left - changed my husband's seat from across the table to next to me which was perfect. Also, the place is dark - we had to use our phone flashlight to see the menu. Maybe turn up the lights? Little Barn is beautiful with a friendly, and accommodating staff. Dinner is served promptly without any feeling of being rushed. The food is excellent, and the portion...
Read moreTerrific casual restaurant! Well trained staff. Delicious food! Morgan the hostess was very nice and answered any questions I had while I waited for my take out order. I had placed it and 45- 50 minutes was the wait time. They opened at about 11:30 and placed it about 30 minutes after they opened. I arrived on time but waited an additional 20 minutes for it to be ready. They are busy on the weekends so it was expected. Mike, the manager, came over and apologized for the wait and offered me a soda which was considerate. Great job to the staff which was running around like a chicken with their heads cut off. It is rustic chic inside with red clad wood all over, Unique light fixtures, and a fireplace. They have a very spacious and comfortable outdoor patio if you would like to eat outside. I saw how diligent they were sanitizing the tables and chairs after each party of diners left. No servers, bar staff, waitress nor any employee, other than the second hostess was wearing a mask. Even if they were all vaccinated that was a little off to me. If not for how good their cleaning practices were I might not have even thought of dinning inside. But I saw first hand and any worries were alleviated. We ordered 2 beef tacos and the Reuben egg rolls to try. They were great! The tacos are small definitely appetizer sized like sliders are mini burgers these are like mini tacos. Lol. For a meal you can order like 3 or 4. INCREDIBLE. Tender strips of steak and grilled fresh pineapple sitting on a bed of some light green sauce (that tastes good but has a slight burn a couple seconds later, still awesome tho) placed on the cutest little soft tortilla. As good as that was, the star was the egg rolls. Two big egg rolls cut diagonal so 4 halves stuffed with all the makings of a Reuben. Sauerkraut, tender melt in your mouth chunks of corned beef bonded together by Swiss cheese. They were not greasy but perfectly crunchy and crisp. You really did not need the Russian dressing because it only covered up the taste. Great job to the cooking staff! Next time we will try ordering later in the evening and see how that works out. But for the ambience, hard working staff, great management, and terrific food you surely deserve 5 stars! We can't wait to try something else but we can't get those egg rolls out...
Read moreWhen we enter the establishment, I was excited by the atmosphere as it appeared to be a vibe, from the decor, the lighting and how it was situated.
For my meal I ordered the ahii tuna Buddha bowl, and the veggies in the bowl smelled spoiled and tasted spoiled. The same veggies were in my daughter’s shrimp bowl, which also smelled spoiled. I told my waitress she Appeared to have cared less.
My granddaughter had the children’s pasta with marinara sauce and wanted another order of the pasta. I asked the waitress if they had an option for a side of pasta and she told me the only thing I could do was to order an entire another children’s meal. Again she appeared to have cared less.
Nicole was our waitress and she smiled and presented as nice but I did not feel valued.
Usually when a customer has a complaint a manger would come to check in or when a 5yo is requesting additional pasta the customer is usually accommodated with a small side or portion. Neither happened which kinda turned us off from revisiting.
Since we didn’t get to speak to a manager I am hoping a manager or the owner read my review.
This place is definitely a vibe and has “potential” with the right service/server.
Thank...
