T.J. Maxx — Local services in Shelton

Just weren't comfortable here. Though prices shown online showed $94/night, they charged over $300 for two nights plus a $100 deposit for "incidentals" like phone calls or items from tiny shop by main desk. That is refundable by mail after checkout. Bed and sofa not comfortable. Room divided by a wall separating bed section and sofa section. TV mounted to wall between sections but more toward sofa section, so you had to swivel it one way or the other depending upon where you sat, could not watch from both sections at once. Also, this positioning put tv too far away from either place. TV was too small to be so far away. Poor bathroom design with double louver doors gave less privacy. Room was at the opposite end of a loooong corridor. Since my wife is disabled, it was either that loooong walk or walk down a flight of concrete stairs to an exit where she had to stand outside to have a cigarette with no place to sit before using the key card to get back in and climb back up the stairs to our room. After 2 nights moved to the Courtyard by Marriott which solved all of the issues. Spent Thurs and Fri there. JD’s to turn an item that was to big I had receipt but I tore off tag before I realized it was big and didn’t have it although I did have other items with tags still on them I only made the mistake once and the girl took care of me instead of saying no I can’t take it back she walked over punched in the brand and numbers on it and gave me back my money no questions no problems quick and easy and the place is so cool even when exiting to get checked out there’s shelves you walk in between with all kinds of novelty items and there was huge Selection even the candy was different and ranged from simple to fancy I didn’t mind waiting cause I was still browsing while waiting that was good sales strategy in my opinion whoever came up with that I only saw it one other store and that’s Burlington I love...

Wow, I need to come here more often. Its like an upgraded Marshall's. Clean, organized, properly stocked. It's a hit or miss style store. If you see it now, buy it bc you may never see it again. Very substantial quality products is what I noticed. The luggage, the furniture, the pans...I was impressed. I went in for essential oils, and left with a beautiful variety pack of said oils, a divine stopper for my kitchen sink, a shower cap and loofah... really good selections. Just get the shopping cart bc you'll need it. I didn't have one so I couldn't do as much damage as I wanted to, only as much as my arms could carry.
