Five Below — Local services in Shelton

If I could leave a negative thousand stars, I would.

I visited this Five Below with my family and friends, including my young son. We came to shop—peacefully, respectfully, and with money to spend. Instead, we were followed, stared at, and treated like criminals from the moment we walked in. Multiple employees shadowed us up and down aisles as if we were under surveillance, not customers.

My wife and her friend were made uncomfortable by a male employee who hovered around them far too closely. When he was confronted, his excuse was, “I’m bored and have nothing to do.” That is not only unprofessional—it’s disgusting and invasive. No customer should have to feel watched or harassed in what’s supposed to be a family-friendly store.

To make matters worse, when I began recording outside the store (which I have the full video of), a staff member rushed out to scold me, claiming, “There are minors inside.” Ma’am, I had my own minor child in my arms. There were no minors in my video—only employees trying to deflect accountability.

This location’s staff displayed the most unprofessional, disrespectful, and uncomfortable behavior I’ve ever seen in retail. The management clearly lacks training in basic decency, professionalism, and privacy boundaries.

Do better. No paying customer—especially one with their family—should be made to feel watched, followed, or disrespected like this. Absolutely...

I honestly don’t know what they do in that store to make it reek of marijuana as soon as you walk in, but that is the entire reason for my score. It doesn’t matter what time of day or who is working the store smells awful. I dread going in for that very reason and so many others feel...

Great store. So many toys and shirts. They have fun snacks, toiletries, and Harry Potter...
