Waffle House — Restaurant in Shepherdsville

My first time at a waffle house. Being 4 o’clock in the morning I thought it would be slow, but several tables of people walked in about the same time I did. What time do the bars close around here?! The waitress and cook did not seem frazzled by this at all. Sitting at the counter I got a really good view of how John, the cook, handles at all. He is so quick and no step is wasted. I didn’t even look at what I brought with me because he was so interesting to observe. I thought any minute he was going to be throwing his spatula in the air and catching it behind his back as he spun around! I ordered smothered & covered hashbrowns and it was so good I came back the next day for more!

This afternoon it was not busy and there were two cooks who were nowhere NEAR as interesting to watch. I ordered hashbrowns, scattered this time, and blueberry waffle. So good! I’ll bet the hashbrown bowls are Fantabulous! The waffle didn’t need butter or syrup on it as far as I was concerned. The blueberries sweetened it up just right. The waitress, Brittany, was so friendly and inviting it was as though we had been friends for years.

I had originally stopped in the middle of the night on my way through Shepherdsville in order to go to Long John Silver’s today. But after last night’s hashbrowns, I could not leave without coming to THIS Waffle House - one more time.

It's been a very long time since I've been here. The last health department inspection (January 2020) resulted in an A/97%. Tonight was no exception, the Outside and Inside Customer areas we're clean. The Food Production Line/Grill area did have a small amount of debris on the floor, however, the area around the grill was clean and the "Lone" Cook was cleaning his area as we were walking in. I watched this same cook change gloves multiple times while we were in the restaurant. The Servers (2) both greeted us as we walked in and we had our drinks in 3 minutes. We placed our order about 5 minutes after we sat down. Then about 10 minutes later our food was on the table. The Presentation of our orders was outstanding. The TASTE was mouth-watering delicious. The Server refilled our drinks as soon as they were half full. We were absolutely thrilled with everything today. We are planning to come back 8 hours after our last visit for Brunch. There were two occupied tables when we got there, yet there were 6 tables dirty with plates. There were only two of us and there were two waitresses. One was on the phone the other one was our waitress. Before our order was called in a huge to go order was called in leaving us to wait 15 minutes before our order was even called in. We both ordered cheeseburgers and hash browns with different toppings. You would think this order would be simple. Our hashbrowns were very wrong. So she offered to replace them and by the time we got our replacement the burgers were cold. And yet the hash browns were still very wrong and half cooked. This was the poorest meal ive ever been offered. We were there about 45 minutes trying to get the meal right that never happened we left every bit of the food setting there our Waitress was no where to be found when we left and all those tables were still dirty. Even though they weren't busy at all. So we left still hungry and didn't have time to go anywhere else. Untill tonight i was a huge waffle house fan. Now i dont see me...
