I almost never write reviews, but I feel compelled to post this in hope that the owners will see it and take action.
We have always enjoyed Baja Fresh, and we eat there every week or two. We were thrilled when we saw that this one was going in just a stone's throw from our house.
I have been there twice now, and it is a bit of a train wreck. I realize that it is new and there are bound to be growing pains, but it appears that there has been very little training. In both cases the individuals taking my order were very nice, but seemed completely lost when it came to what was on the menu and how to input an order in the computer. When I went this evening for the second time, the girl at the register spoke very little English. I had to repeat everything at least twice, and even then she couldn't get it right until another girl came over and explained it to her in Spanish. I couldn't tell if the issue was a language barrier, an ignorance of their menu, or both.
I then had to wait to receive my food until after several people who were in line behind me had already gotten theirs, and I went up to inquire about it. Finally, when I got home I discovered that my burrito was missing both cheese and sour cream that I had ordered. While it did have guacamole, it was only in about a half inch on one end of the burrito.
As I mentioned, this is the second time I have tried this location, and the first was a day or two after it opened so I was willing to give it another try. This is now a week later and it was worse than the first time. I'm giving it two stars because the employees were friendly and obviously trying. I mostly blame the owners for a shameful lack of training and preparation for their "Grand Opening". Please, if you are reading this and you are an owner or manager of this location, I'm begging you to take action and remedy this. I want this Baja Fresh to succeed in...
Read moreI went in on my lunch break around 4:30 pm today and ordered some chips and queso and some street corn, the woman working told me they only had large chips and queso so I said I’ll pass I can’t eat that much then after I ask her to remove it she tells me there’s a smaller size called pronto queso and I said that what I had been asking for the smaller size and that would be perfect! I tipped her $2 on the $10 order got my food and left, got back to my work to find she had given me ICE COLD NEVER HEATED OR COOKED STREET CORN! I literally couldn’t believe this, I will NEVER go back to this location! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Baja Fresh and this has left such a bad taste in my mouth I don’t know if or when I will ever go back to one… someone needs to seriously talk to this woman about her attitude, I’ve never been given completely uncooked food before and I’m still in shock. I was incredibly kind despite the initial misunderstanding and even tipped well on a to-go order. I will...
Read moreThe Sherwood location has delicious food. We went this evening for dinner though and the restaurant was just filthy. It was really surprising I have never seen a restaurant this dirty. Every table every chair covered in food crumbs and sticky from soda. The chairs were all kind of scattered and it was clear no employee had been attending to the eating area all day and it looked like not all week. We were the only ones there the whole time we ate so it’s not like it was a crazy busy day. It was hard to find one table to sit at that we didn’t have to wipe all the food off. The employees were outside and in the kitchen taking selfies and on their phones. We were there 5/4/19 at 5pm. They were nice and friendly and make great food but it made me seriously question if the cooking area is clean if this is how the eating area looks. Having a clean place to eat is essential it creates trust in your whole operation as a restaurant. We probably won’t be back which...
