Down rated from 5 to 2. We stopped into the new location for lunch and wow, Generations has changed and not for the better! At the old location you felt welcomed with staff and owners stopping by often to see how things were and to refill drinks. At the new location not so much. Told to sit anywhere, it was 8 minutes until staff came to table. Staff seemed to have difficulty using the tablet. Could not understand that one person wanted diet Pepsi and one wanted Pepsi zero. One order of pork sliders with Mac salad. The response? "We don't have Mac salad yet" The other order was the soup and salad. Tomato Bisque. About 5 minutes later drinks arrived. Food followed about 10 minutes later. We were asked if we wanted ketchup and said yes. That never showed up. I had to go up to the bar and ask for it. The sliders were good. The soup and salad was a complete disappointment. The menu read "A fresh bed of mixed greens adorned with tomatoes, red onions, mushrooms and blue cheese crumbles. Served with a bowl of warm comforting soup." What came was nowhere near that. The soup was lukewarm The soup serving was a cup not a bowl Mixed greens were mostly iceberg lettuce with a bit of romaine. Not even 1.5 cups worth Tomatoes were 2 tablespoons of finely diced cubes Blue cheese crumbles were one tablespoon of a white/yellow cheese mix. Mushrooms were completely absent. Red onions were missing too
The staff never came by to ask how things were or to offer refills on the drinks. Showed up with the check when we were done. I mentioned my displeasure with the soup and salad not matching the menu description. The response? "Sorry about that. We are still working out things. Nobody really knows what they are doing"
To their credit they adjusted the check but this was a huge drop in service and food quality. I can't believe that most of the staff and cooks didn't move from the old location.
While more spacious than the old location, the new location felt like a rushed opening. They kept the well broken in booth seating from the pizza place so you sink into the holes. Out of order fixtures in the restrooms which haven't been even moderately updated.
We might return in a month or so once they have had time to work things out. In the meantime just be aware that this isn't the Generations that we...
Read moreI'm giving them 5 stars. This is a great family owned restaurant! We are regulars now, enjoying everything from Sunday breakfast, date night to after baseball dinners with friends. Having boys, we love the sports atmosphere and that it's family and kid friendly.
Food: The food is wonderful, locally sourced food, organic meat, family recipes and homemade buns/breads! I hope people try different things on the menu, it's worthy of working through to discover your favorites. Burger lovers should to try the Bowmen Burger, French Dip lovers should try the Swiss Dip and Salad Lovers should try the Lemon Chicken Veggie Salad in their healthy eating section.
Service: Owners and staff are very nice. Hard workers and eager to please. Friday and Saturday nights at a sports bar can be busy, so think about when you want to go to insure the experience you're after.
Atmosphere: Very clean, open, plenty of T.V.'s, small nook with books and blocks for kids, some arcades and large conference/party room available to reserve in the back
Price: Very reasonable, tons to choose from under the $10 price point. For quality, organic food you can't go wrong here. Generous portions and priced well.
Other: They are locally owned, and give back to...
Read moreHad to move the family and animals to a hotel last minute when the A/C went out. Frazzled and over the day to put it mildly, with no expectations beyond something to eat and sleep, and this was next door. Come to find out called about 50 min before closing and was apologetically informed that there had just been a late rush so it may take longer than normal. If 45-60 min was alright they’d get started. I double checked that it was okay I’d be picking the food up right at, or possibly after closing. The owner said it was no problem and invited me to grab a drink while I waited. I rarely, and I mean rarely, order food within an hour of a place closing. I probably wouldn’t have even called if I’d realized they were. However, they were so welcoming and gracious at the end of the day on an obviously busy night, when a lot of places would understandably decline a to-go order. The fact that the food was good and the beer was cold was just a bonus. It was very much appreciated and I look forward to coming back and...
