Let me start out by saying that the food was absolutely delicious. I had the lamb biryani, and it was the most tender lamb I've ever had, and the yogurt sauce that came with it was great. The garlic naan was outstanding. Our server was a very sweet woman and did the best she could while trying to be hostess, server, and busser all in one. We got seated right away. The amount of food we received for what we paid was more than reasonable.
The not so great: they are severely understaffed. Though we were seated right away, we couldn't get a booth because they were all dirty and unbussed. We all asked for waters, but she apologetically served us warm tap water without explaining why, so I'm assuming some sort of technical problems. It took a very long time to place our order.
We were gracious about it, because we assumed this was a new restaurant (it isn't) and that all of the issues were just growing pains. However the biggest problem for me came when we went up to pay. We had two coupons with us: one for $5 off $25, another for $10 off $50. We had spent $55 that night, so naturally tried to use the $10 off coupon. The guy who rang us up refused to take it, saying we had to spend the $5 coupon first and could use the $10 coupon the next time we came in. Nowhere on the coupon or the flyer we got it from said anything about having to do that. We didn't want to argue with him and paid and left, but it left a bad last impression, which is what people usually take with them. We probably will not be back, and it's too far from our house to get takeout. It's a shame, because I love Indian food and really wanted to...
Read moreMe and my wife went there on 9/13 at 4pm. We ordered goat biryani, goat Rajasthani and baigan bhartha. The goat Rajasthani came with 5 pieces of boned meat and the meat was chewy, most likely not cooked through. The biryani had very few minuscule size of meats. It was like we paid 17 dollars for spicy rice. The baigan bhartha was the only thing that looked normal. Overall, we paid 56 dollars excluding tips but felt like we were still hungry. Very disappointed with the food, the management needs to do major thinking and revamp their menu otherwise this business will go out of busin very soon. The only positive thing I can think of is the wait staff. They are professional and handled our orders well. Finally, if you have craving for Indian food go to any other Indian restaurant in Hillsboro or Beaverton area, you will get better value of for your bucks. I will not recommend this restaurant. Update on owners response: What is embarrassing is you are spending all this time on Google reviews instead of focusing on improving food and customer experience. As a customer who PAID for their food, I will make my point as many times as I want, even if my wife had the made the point earlier. Learn to take constructive criticism from the customers you purport to serve and you may end up improving...
Read moreI'm not sure what happened here; I suspect a change in ownership. We have been coming here regularly for the past year, and we typically get the same dishes: garlic naan, butter chicken, and lamb kabobs. We went in yesterday and were presented with a completely revised menu; we ordered the same items: the naan was about the same, the butter masala with chicken was not nearly as creamy as it used to be, and the lamb kebabs were dry and overcooked. They had some red spice on them that wasn't there previously. We'll go again to ensure this wasn't a fluke, but I sense an underlining change, not for the good.
As someone not well-versed in Indian cuisine, I hesitated to write this review, but my experiences here have compelled me to share.
The food is simply fantastic. Highlights include the creamy and indulgent butter chicken, the flavorful lamb seekh kabab, and an array of delectable naans. I usually opt for milder spice levels as a novice in this cuisine, and they've consistently delivered.
The service is also noteworthy. The staff is friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience.
In short, even if you're not an Indian food expert, this restaurant is a must-try. Great food and excellent service make it a top choice for a...
