This place used to be a favorite of mine when I’m on the island, but ever since the other location closed, the quality overall has decreased. The customer service is completely non existent. Front of house is the first impression when walking into a restaurant, so the fact that there were several people at the counter and not one person said hello, welcome, or anything was disappointing. Even the what looked to be management, said nothing and just looked through me, complaining that the rush was starting, as if it were bad to be making money. I guess that’s what happens when you hire teenagers who could care less. The girl at the counter didn’t even look at me when she finally did speak saying pick up? I mean, it couldn’t have been more rude. Every person there seemed to be bothered by having to do their job. It’s only $63 worth of food but I would appreciate just a little courtesy. The chicken parm sandwich was a huge disappointment. It wasn’t even a real chicken cutlet, they just threw some chicken tendies on a roll and called it chicken parm. Do not get! Yellow American cheese doesn’t belong on cheesesteaks or chicken steaks either. Pizza was still decent and I like the sauce, but it used to be way better at the old location. Overall I cannot say with confidence that I will be returning. The lack of hospitality is enough for me to tell others to eat elsewhere, as there are many gems on the...
Read moreBest Pizza in NJ. Is Joey's Grandma Pie Ship Bottom. Savory sauce, Rich non greasy decadent mozzarella, Thin Chewy aldente Crust with a light crisp from the small wire wrack that adds so much flavor to the bottom. So consistently good I buy a pie to put in freezer at home. This is nothing like the boardwalk pizza with sloppy greasy cheese falling apart ch and mushy tasteless dough with a crisp. Joey's is Comparable if not better than Lilo's in Mt Laurel which that Portnoy El Presidente gave a very high score. I will add a picture my next visit since it's so consistently good. Remember to snap a pic for eating is difficult when your hungry. Pizza best described as Dreamy and Perfection. From the outside looks more like an Ice shop but don't be fooled. Lilo's in Mt Laurel also not much to look at from outside but always rocking for also delivering a crave worthy pie rarely matched. Joey's Grandma Pie is that good that for me it's a destination I would plan a trip just to get the pizza and maybe see the Ocean across the...
Read moreI've been coming here ever since I started coming to the island 25 years ago. The place is clean. The food is good enough. Are they the best in the island? No. Can you get better food somewhere else? Sure. I think there's something to be said about great customer service and that's where it's really gone downward. There's no service with a smile. There's no sense of being conscientious about what they're doing for the customer, at least not at the hot food section. The ice cream end had other people facing the customers so maybe they're better. I can't recommend this place anymore and I'm honestly sad about that. They were always my go-to spot whenever visiting the island and I always recommended them to anyone coming to the island. But it's all gimmicky now...they're selling "Legalize Marinara" magnets. Seriously? Will that help to send the folks at the counter to customer service conferences where they can learn how to speak to the customers in the store and on the phone?...
