I've been going to this Red Robin a while now and have been trying different items on their menu.
The staff is nice and accommodating, and they are always checking in to see if I need refills on my drink or endless side items. The managers are just as nice, and introduce themselves and do everything to make the dining experience comfortable.
Experience: 9.5/10 (the .5 off is that they're sometimes understaffed, and although that's not the fault of the local management, it would be in their interest to hire some more people in the future as the current staff seem overworked.)
Food: 8.5-9.5/10 This is subjective as everyone's taste buds differ. I've thoroughly enjoyed the food that has come out from their chicken sandwiches, burgers, fries, salmon plank, and various sides. The difference in points is that some items hit differently than others; the monster burger is awesome, whereas the chicken sandwich is good, and on par with other restaurants. The burgers tho are always cooked to perfection, which is to be expected of a burger joint. The pretzel bites took me aback the first time I saw them because I thought they were burnt, but they weren't, that just how they look. The fried pickles were probably the most disappointing, too much breading for me, but maybe some other customers like it that way.
Overall Ranking: I'd give this place a 9.1/10.
Many of the flaws or knocks are things that corporate can fix, like having more staff and revising some menu items. Food is consistent and flavorful, and there certainly some gems on the menu like the monster burger (seriously, it kicks other places butts when it comes to how much you're getting and the flavor profile).
I'll continue eating there and...
Read moreI usually would say that I love Red Robin (due to having gluten free fries and buns), however my experience with the Short Pump store was terrible. We ordered food to-be-picked up. I placed the order on the computer so I knew it was correct (as I have a gluten allergy). We picked up food and got home and it was all WRONG The food allergy was labeled on the wrong sandwich (one was to be a ciabatta bun and the other GF bun). There were no toppings on either bacon cheese burgers (which we added onions to both and pickles on one). No lettuce. No tomato. NO mayo. I tried to call to let them know. Was looped around and around for 5 minutes...finally got to talk to someone who took my complaint and then said they would transfer me to the store. I then was put on hold again (for another 3 minutes) and stayed there until they hung up on me. So we got back in the car and went back to the store (which by the way is not that close). They just put the GF burger in the GF labeled container. Not acceptable...still not correct (no toppings & were those fries GF?). We have worked in a lot of food service industry and to have had the customer come back to the store because you couldnt reach a person to report the mistakes is really unheard of. No apology. No discount. No offer to make it correctly (which we insisted and they still messed it up-didnt give us tomato). Talked to the manager and he also gave no apology for their mistake. And instead of the sweet and spicy ketchup we asked for they gave us Coctail Sauce. We are done..never going there again. I CANNOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. NO...
Read moreI’m sad to have to give this location two stars because I adore Red Robin, but I repeatedly run into issues at the Roanoke establishment. After driving an hour, we couldn’t even find the host/hostess to seat us. My husband had to go looking for someone because the line had built up and we had been waiting for a solid 10 minutes just to give our name. The waiter was nice, though didn’t look very happy and never wrote anything down. That set off an alarm in my mind from the start since I have celiac disease and must ensure my food is gluten free. I told him this when I ordered and my husband did the same for his burger. When he brought the food out, I asked about the bun just to make sure and he said it’s a wheat bun and my husband’s was a normal sesame seed bun. We had to send both back and make sure the management knew not to just replace the bun due to cross contamination. We finally got it worked out but we were there for two hours. The manager also didn’t seem to know what to say, though we did find out when we paid that they compensated us for the issues, for which we were grateful. Maybe it was an off night, but we have had similar issues at this location before. I think it just comes down to training. The food is good, but the service...
