Good Vibe Spot with Great Tacos — But Please Fix That Rice
This was my first visit, and I decided to sit at the bar. Loved that they had a few big screens up so I could catch the game—definitely a plus. I ordered a mango-strawberry margarita from their wide flavor selection. It was strong and tasty, but I was a little surprised it came in a plastic cup. A nice frozen glass would’ve made it feel more complete.
I ordered the chicken and steak street tacos—the chicken was okay, but the steak was delicious and full of flavor. I added a side of rice, and that was a big miss. It was plain, with no flavor, no spices, no veggies—definitely not the seasoned Mexican rice I’m used to.
They also brought out the chips and salsa. The salsa wasn’t thick, but it had more of a tomato paste taste instead of that fresh tomato flavor I was expecting. I usually look forward to fresh, zesty salsa at Mexican spots, so that was another letdown.
The service, though, was great—my waitress was nice and friendly, which made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be back because the steak tacos and margarita flavors are worth another round—but if they improve the rice and salsa, this place could easily be a...
Read moreMe and my wife went there for lunch and we had cocktails guacamole and for lunch we had beef fajitas. The waitress took a long time to bring us our drinks, didn't bring the guacamole until just moments before the lunch arrived. The beef fajitas had absolutely zero seasoning on them it had absolutely no flavor to them at all, and only had a very small amount of bell peppers and a ton of onions. The waitress never came back to ask how the food tastes and was just coming by sweeping up looking like she was just ready to go. When I gave her the bill I explained to her that the food had absolutely no flavor and that she was very late bringing my guacamole, she didn't even acknowledge me she didn't apologize she just grabbed the bill and charged me and brought it back for me to sign. The service was horrible the food was tasteless the atmosphere was just barely okay in my thoughts could be updated much better than what it is now, don't waste your time on this place go somewhere else for Tex-Mex. The bill was almost $90, and I've gone to other Tex Mex places and have the same items and believe me tasted far better and spent $65 so they are...
Read moreChips, too thin and definitely don't taste made in house. Salsa, overly sweet, similar to a sweet marinara sauce. Indoors, do they even have air conditioning?? (A sweet hostess or server dragged the 1 floor fan available as far toward our table of 6 as possible, which helped a little.) Margaritas and Bloody Mary's both tastes as though ZERO alcohol was added to either. Both were WORST any of us had ever had, anywhere! And our server, a very tall, skinny, young man? He got 1 order wrong, and refused to make it good. Regarding our drinks, he just kept saying, "they're from a mix". No offer to replace them, add an extra splash of alcohol, suggest something else, or refund what we'd paid for them.
The food was mediocre, except for my husband's Carnitas Plate. The amount of tasty pork chunks made up for the rice and beans, which tasted like a frozen tv dinner.
Try CASA Jimador instead. You'll pay a bit more, but you'll enjoy quality food, great service, and a proper cocktail. CASA JIMADOR, also in the...
