Wanna experience food poison? Go here. On any first visit to a sushi restaurant, I tend to sit at the sushi bar to gauge the product of raw fish I would consume. I am a big tuna lover (FYI). So, let's begin. The first thing I saw sitting at the third seat on the left with a direct line of sight into kitchen was a guy on the serving line eating a lemon with no gloves and using a ton of salt. Next was that same guy, cut some egg rolls, and plating them with no gloves and without washing his hands after eating the lemon covered in salt. Second was the girl sipping some soup mixed with Sriracha sauce that she came and got from the sushi bar while plating food. I witnessed multiple meals being prepared after wiping their eyes and rubbing their face without washing their hands in between. Next, the sushi chef. They wore gloves but never once changed the gloves. The youngest guy walked in the back with gloves as if to look for someone but immediately turned around. Touching the swing doors with gloves and going back to preparing food. The older gentlemen I did see change his gloves before preparing some sushi once while I was there total time in 355 minutes. Last the food. Figured might as well eat since I sat there for close to 20 minutes waiting on food. After a quick prayer, here we go. That seaweed used to roll the sushi is not made for human consumption. I have never in all my days had seaweed that was so chewy. You can't swallow the food without the wrapping getting stuck in your throat. Maybe they were on to me and knew I would write a review(which is highly unlikely). The taste of fish was different. One should know that touching all the fish with the same gloves gives a different taste. So as I sit here on the toilet with a plastic bag for vomit and hope that the tissue lasts and my leg wakes back up. I respectfully decline to eat at this establishment again. The atmosphere is nice and even has a stocked bar. But on the upside for the brave soul that ventures here, they do give a...
Read moreFirst visit: With a friend, I had lunch here a couple of weeks ago. I have eaten Japanese food all over the world and their Bento box lunches are pretty close to the real thing, except that since it is for Americans, the servings are a little too large! (But not many folk will complain about that!) Lunch prices were very good and supper did not look bad. Service was quick, informative and cheerful. I will definitely be back. Second visit: Well, how quickly things can change! - because my first impression was so good, I returned a couple of days ago with another friend. I may not go back again. It's an unwritten rule that people who go for lunch have limited time. I reinforced this truism by telling the server to bring our luches with the soup and salad and not wait until we were finished. Did that work - no! A full 20 minutes after we finished our salad, we still had not been served our Bento boxes. And our server was nowhere to be seen! (They were much less than 50% full.) I managed to catch the eye of another and asked what had happened. He said he would find out and came back quickly to say they would come soon. Since the kitchen is in full view from the restaurant, I could see that our dishes were only then being prepared and they duly arrived in a few minutes. Who knows when they would have arrived if I had not enquired? Stupidly, I still left a tip - I should have had a refund! Will I go back? I doubt it. I am downgrading my initial review from 5 stars to 2 stars - the food was still good, but do not give them your patronage if you have any time...
Read moreSecond time we’ve tried to eat here and it was CHAOS. The sushi chef behind the counter is absolutely out of control! He proceeded to have a FULL meltdown when asked by waitresses about orders that were taking forever. They had THREE TABLES SEATED. 3. The manager asked him to calm himself and among other things apologize.. this guy gets loud, grabbed the food he was preparing and threw it in the trash!! He did that twice, with zero regard…for anything/anyone. It’s still shocking as I type this. Our table got food incredibly sporadic after long wait times in between. My 12yr old daughter never even got her sushi nachos. My friend received her plate when the rest of us had finished, and only after asking twice about her and my daughter plates (chef meltdown was happening during all of this). The first time we visited in January 2024 for my son’s birthday, I kid you not, the SAME EXACT scenario played out, including a tantrum by the SAME dude, except it was me that got mediocre food long after everyone else’s was served and finished. It’s just unacceptable service. Embarrassing for the establishment. The food was good, but we will never come back because of the incredibly ugly behavior of your sushi chef and the inability to serve food in a timely manner. It’s a shame really. You...
