The food was great! We tried the beef, chicken and vegetable pastelitos for an appetizer. We would definitely get the beef and chicken again. The green salsa is very flavorful - garlicky with some spice. The Cuban sandwich was very good and cheesy. The bread was nice and crispy on the outside. There wasn't a lot of meat on it, but I didn't mind. The fried plantains were also very good. The star of the meal was the jerk chicken. Like another review said, it's not sweet and it's not too spicy like some jerk chicken can be. Definitely go for the moro (seasoned rice and peas) as a side. The passion fruit mojito was killer and unfortunately I didn't get a picture of that.
So, the only negatives were that they were out of ginger ale for the mixed drink I ordered and the avocados weren't ripe enough to make the guacamole for the dish I wanted. That said, I appreciate that they didn't try to serve me unripe avocados. Also, I had read that they are a little slow and they were, but they certainly weren't unreasonable and everything came out hot and fresh. I'm glad to wait a little for hot food. Finally, our server was friendly and very attentive. Please go try this place. We'll...
Read moreWent in on a weekday for lunch. There were only two other occupied tables, and I was seated right away. You have the option to use the QR code on the table to see the menu, but we were given menus at the table. There were tvs hanging up, but none were on. There was music playing, so it wasn't dead silent, but overall, the atmosphere left much to be desired. Not a big deal to me...it was cool and comfortable inside, and everyone greeted each other like old friends, despite being strangers. I ordered the hibiscus drink, which was absolutely delicious, but my husband never received a drink. At all. He asked for water, and the server never brought it. We also ordered the can can pork chop and an order of plantains. The food was absolutely delicious. My one complaint is the lack of salt on the chop. We expected that salty bite you get with a chicharron, and it simply wasn't there. We found a lone salt shaker on an adjacent table, and let me tell you...that touch of salt did it! The meat was moist and tender, just absolutely delicious. It didn't take long to get our food, but it took a while to get any kind of service as we ate. I definitely plan to return and try...
Read moreWe visited in celebration of my 38th birthday and I must say Sabores Dominican Bar & Grill did not disappoint! The food was absolutely delicious. You can tell it was cooked with pride and love. We ordered Jerk Chicken w/ white rice and beans, and Oxtails w/ yellow rice and peas. We were surprised to see a serving of the most delicious pasta salad on our plates as well. The flavors in each dish had us craving more and more. Make sure you order the Passion Fruit juice with your meal! The prices were fair and the portion sizes were perfect! It reminded me of how grandmothers try to overfeed you at family gatherings. The service was quick and friendly! Nicole was our hostess/waitress and she gave us some suggestions on what to order since we were inexperienced with ordering Dominican style food. Her suggestions did not disappoint. We left we full bellies and cannot wait to return...
