IHOP — Restaurant in Shrewsbury

I ordered the Cheesy Chicken Bacon Ranch which is: Two freshly grilled or buttermilk crispy chicken breasts, (ALMOST COLD) white cheese sauce, (WHICH LOOKED HORRIBLE) Jack & Cheddar cheese,(WHICH WAS COLD/NOT MELTED/ AND IN CLUMPS DUE TO JUST BEING PUT ON AND RECENTLY TAKEN OUT OF A FRIDGE OR SOMETHING) diced hickory-smoked bacon (WAS GIVEN STRIPS), & diced fresh tomatoes (NOT FRESH BUT ONLY TWO SLICES) served over our rice medley.(I DON'T KNOW WHAT THST RICE WAS BUT IT ALSO WAS COLD) Served with a side of ranch.” I WAS TOLD THE CHEF IS NEW AND DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO COOK OR PREP THE MEAL. AND ON TOP OF THAT A LANGUAGE BARRIER. THAT'S AN UNDERSTATEMENT. HAVING A CHEF WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE OF HOW FOOD IS COOKED AND PREPPED IS NOT GOOD. I EAT HEAR A LOT AS MY DAUGHTER LOVES COMING HERE; THOUGH THIS WAS A DISAPPOINTING DAY AS I BROUGHT HER AS SHE FINISHED KINDERGARTEN TO CELEBRATE WITH A GOOD MEAL. (Unfortunately mine was not) NOT SURE BY WHO THIS IS OWNED BY OR RUN, BUT OF YOU HIRE A CHEF YOU NEED TO TRAIN THEM HOW MEALS AND FOOD ARE COOKED AND PREPPED. THERE NEEDS TO BE AN UNDERSTANDING IN FOOD PRESENTATION AND OF COURSE "THE MENU" AND TO TOP IT OFF WALKING ON A SLIPPERY FLOOR DUE TO MOPPING WHILE PEOPLE ARE EATING AND OR LEAVING IN A SMALL SPACE, ESPECIALLY WALKING OUT WHERE EVERYTHING IS IN THE WAY WITH MINIMAL SPACE. I first visited a few weeks ago after buying car insurance at the shopping center. I had not been to any International House of Pancakes in so many years and remembered they changed the name from IHOP to IHOB to change from pancakes to burgers. I never had a burger there and went inside because I like burgers. The burgers are very good. You can order different kinds and they use Heinz ketchup. They have french fries and those are pretty good also. Not quite as delicious as McDonald's french fries but IHOP is trying to be IHOP not McDonald's. Or Wendy's either. They still serve breakfast. I've went like 12 times in the last three weeks because the menu has so many pages! One day I had breakfast there and came back for lunch later that same day. The service is good. They are polite and the tables were clean when I first arrived. They pay attention to you, like for example bringing water refills or checking in to say something like how's that burger tasting in a very friendly way. Every time I have gone I get a seat right away and I have never called to make reservations. I feel like they must like me a lot because a few times on the bill I got a smile face : ) and the words thank you. And I always tip the same amount 15% so I know they are not just trying to "butter me" up. The ihop site crashed while pacing my order, had to open in new browser window. Not the fault of this location. My pickup time was supposed to be 11:25. I got there at 11:30 figuring since I was it would be a quick in and out. The lobby was packed so figured my pickup time was most likely inaccurate. I was told it would be a a couple minutes. They didnt seem to handle their waiting area very well because they called "kenny party of two" twice after I saw a hostess give Kenny a table. A little sad when a guest can figure this out but note the employees. My food was ready at 11:45, twenty minutes late. I walked out and checked the bag in the parking lot, glad I did because there was no syrup. Crazy idea I'd want that with my pancakes. Got that in less than a minute when I went back in. Got back to work and sat down, got thirsty and realized that over priced $3 diet pepsi I ordered was not given to me. I shouldn't have to constantly double check my order assuming they got it wrong. They shouldn't get it wrong, you have a enough time when you give me my order twenty minutes passed...
