Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Silver Spring Township

Was super excited about getting this chain in our area, and was even more excited to try it out.

Came in on a weeknight (later, like 7:45pm ish). Was my wife, two year old son, and myself.

Place was pretty empty, and after being ignored by the plethora of staff they had on duty. We were finally "waited" on at the counter.

We very politely let them know we were "first timers", and we apologized in advance for our "newness"... This garnered very little response.

The entire visit there was an overwhelming feeling that we were a nuisance, and we were putting them out.

To say they "reluctantly" took care of us, was an understatement.

Management on duty seemed oblivious, and was too preoccupied to even notice the only family in the restaurant.

At one point, the little girl behind the counter asked very unenthusiasticly if we would like our subs "something-style" or something I couldn't audibly hear because she mumbled.

When I openly said, "what does that mean?" (Very politely mind you), the young girl rolled her eyes, took a deep sigh, and quickly mumbled a list of ingredients, (I think it's just like lettuce, tomatoes, onion, oil and vinegar, but I'm still not 100% sure because she was difficult to follow)

Again, we were putting them out for not knowing there terms apparently.

Mind you, a manager was less than ten feet away this entire time in a quiet restaurant. And either didn't care, or was on their own world.

The prices are a little more than you'd expect for a fast food sub shop, but the quality was definitely there. I'd probably go back if the service problems weren't...

First Timer

I visited this place on Sunday 5/6/2018 between 330-430 time frame. There was 3 wonderful very helpful ladies there working at the time. First I got welcomed by them all when I walked through the door. Second I couldn't decide what I wanted so the young lady at the slicer was very patient and nice and helped me try to figure out what I wanted. She had short hair and had a smile from ear to ear as a matter of fact I didn't see that smile come off her face. She was lovely very sweet and just made my day from her beautiful smile. As I went down the line after getting my cold sub I ordered the other 2 young ladies were just as great. Place was very clean inside also. The service that all 3 young ladies provided me that day was amazing. The food was great, service was outstanding , and these 3 girls made my day.I must say I give the General manager at this location a high five for putting together a great team. As a business owner I had to control myself and not hand out my buisness cards to these wonderful young ladies to come work for my company especially the one who couldn't stop smiling. I need her at my job to help keep up the morale. I will be coming back to this location and I will also be ordering catering from this company quite often for my business. A++++++++++ service and food....

My experience at Jersey Mike's has always been consistent and I've always enjoyed their subs. Growing up in NJ, the bread they use and the way their subs are put together are what my definition of a sub should be. My favorite is The Super Sub served with Mike's Way - with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, olive oil blend, red wine vinegar and spices.  And their Philly steak is as good as Philadelphia Steaks & Hoagies - if not better due to additional ingredients such as grilled peppers.

Aside from authentic subs, Jersey Mike's gives back to the community it serves every year via the Feeding America program (and others) as I was reminded by their TV commercial last weekend.  So this is an establishment that cares even as it continues to expand nationwide.  I feel good spending my meal money here.  I'm glad there's one so close to home.
