Consistency is very important to me when it comes to judging an establishment. Unfortunately, over the last couple of years, we've never experienced anything consistent about this place.
My son likes to go and spend time with me eating unhealthy foods and staring at all of the giant t.v.'s that adorn just about every inch of space there. We consistently order the same thing each time, and rarely deviate from our usual. On occasion, we'll try different appetisers, but typically, it's always the same thing. Which really bums me out more, because, if you order the same thing every time, with differing results every time, it sounds eerily similar to that tongue in cheek definition of insanity. So, I suppose I always end up walking away from here feeling like I just got released from the insane asylum hoping to purge the taste of the asylum food out of my mouth ASAP.
We always order a large traditional bone-in wing to share with the sauces on the side. The one bright spot here is the sauce is always good, but how hard is it to serve a sauce that's been perfected and bottled for you to serve. It's not as if they're whipping up fresh batches of each sauce every morning in the kitchen. The wings are very low quality. Which is fine, but I wish they were a little better. You'll inevitably get 2 or 3 drum pieces or flats that are broken and will find yourself hoping that the damage occurred after the poor chicken, who gave up her life for me to eat, was dispatched. Like other reviews here, I swear they border dangerously close to raw in the middle. I understand that chicken cooked on the bone will have the dark bloodlines, and be greasier than other chicken, but sometimes I find myself just being grossed out by the bigger pieces and going for the smaller ones that I know are cooked all the way through.
On top of this, the service is spotty at best. They all seem nice enough, but, I've never had an experience where they didn't forget about us, forget an item ordered, or there was a "mix up" in the kitchen. The last time we visited, we ordered and proceeded to watch the tables around us who were seated after us get their food, eat it, pay and leave. Our waitress finally said there was a mix up in the kitchen and they had to remake our wings, so we had to sit through another round of watching other people get their food, eat and leave. She also forgot my drink. And, before you think to yourself, "why didn't he mention something sooner", I did, and she kept telling me it would be right out. After all this, we didn't get a discount or anything for all of our waiting around for the food and having to ask for my drink. A tepid apology was all we got. I shouldn't have to, nor do I want to be the guy who asks for a manager and demands it be made right somehow. It sounds like even doing that, doesn't always come to anything other than the manager arguing right back. Also, why does every server have the same number on their "jersey"? I'm sure the 82 has something to do with the company, but wouldn't be nice to know your server's number rather than trying to remember their name? Maybe that's just me.
This place also gets super crowded during football season and you'll have to wait to be seated, unless you want to be seated at the handicapped table or at a table way too small for your party. I don't know about you, but with my luck, I feel like as soon as I sit at the handicap table, an adorable 6 year old would come rolling through the front door in her wheelchair with a pink cast on her leg. Basically, I'm saying this place isn't worth the wait. But, the fact that they do so much business, hand over fist, I'm sure quality isn't their priority.
If you're looking to find your game on one of the t.v.'s and hope you're seated near that t.v. and wait a long time to get spotty service and inconsistent food, then I guess, go to "Beedubs". I really just go to appease my son, so that I can pretend I'm not all about myself all...
Read moreDisclaimer: This review is from an experience roughly 6mos ago. My experience was exactly this, but I cannot promise the same level of quality now.
Atmosphere: I am biased against Sports Bar atmosphere, so take my atmosphere rating with a grain of salt. The big screen TVs were placed well for watching. The sport variety between the TVs was actually refreshing, It gives the impression one could ask to get the "Mets" table or the "Dolphins" table. On a Seahawks game day I don't know how well that idea would hold up, but yeah.
Service: Friendly and reasonably prompt. Not "blow-my-mind" service, but excellent for a chain. They were decently busy when I went, and the wait for the server to come back was very prompt given the number of customers. Orders were accurate, went to the correct people, and very friendly.
Chicken: I went with a large party, so we ended up not only ordering many different kinds of wings per person, we shared them with each other. All of the wings were delicious. The chicken itself was very tender on average, some a little dry, but given I think we had about 10 orders of 3 different flavors of wings, "a little dry" seems expected for some of the wings.
Sauces: This category seals the deal for me with BWW against many other places: They provide enough sauce with your order. There is nothing more sad to me than a chicken wing with a line of sauce across the width because of rush or cost cutting. There are many places in our area to get wings, and only this branch, of this chain, has even come close to competing with local favorites. While not absolutely slathered in sauce like I prefer, the wings come with a somewhere between "dipped" and "drizzled" an excellent balance for the general public, but if you're a "The chicken is a vehicle for flavor" man like myself, maybe ask for extra sauce.
To the GM: My experience 6mos ago was exactly this. Your team was amazing and the food top-notch. However, a BWWs branch has just fired an employee for calling out a dine and dasher on the internet. That person also claims that when someone dines and dashes that the wait staff have to pay out-of-pocket to cover the expense.
I'm not sure if the claims are true, but until I hear otherwise, I will be selecting other places for wings. Thank you for the fun night, and maybe I'll come back when I hear...
Read moreWaited an hour for a table. Were then sat in a bar area table(they did not inform us we all needed IDs and that it was a bar area table beforehand). I did not have my ID so they told us we couldn’t sit there. We’d already ordered bottomless appetizers and gotten the first round after 30min. Our waitress was already rude and had a bad attitude. Was told all of a sudden we needed to be moved to a different table b/c I did not have an ID with me. We said okay that’s fine where should we go? And they told us they didn’t know they would find a table for us but we needed to move “right now and we needed to take our food”. She pointed to a random section to wait and then was told we’d be seated shortly. So we were rushed out the table so they could seat someone else asap. And then left standing around with our food for another 20min in a random section. We then asked the host what was going on and where to go as they had essentially just left us. He had no clue, they then put us at the bottom of the wait list to wait another hour for a table. Even though we’d already ordered. At this point almost 2hrs in, I tried to flag down our waitress to get the check and just go and she completely ignored me and my party. Proceeded to ignore us multiple times and so I had to once again go to the host to get my check so I could even leave. Bless him cause he was legit the only one actually working there. They sent the manager out to talk to us who apologized but offered literally nothing else. Not even just the bare minimum of a table. And topping on the cake, the waitress had a bad attitude cause we left no tip because she never served us. Ridiculous. All you will get here is mid food and even worse attitude for no other reason than existing in the airspace of someone who voluntarily, of their own free will, signed up...
