Opinion: This is my perspective on what happened, and I share it to keep this review fully protected as my personal experience and viewpoint.
This review is based on a deeply disturbing experience that left me genuinely concerned for the safety of an elderly couple.
A woman in uniform approached our table and focused on the elderly woman’s purse. A stepfather figure nearby recalls seeing what he believed was a manager’s name tag, and the elderly woman noted the woman wore a uniform consistent with restaurant staff. Whether manager or owner, her behavior was unacceptable.
The elderly couple politely and clearly told her—multiple times—that the purse belonged to them and asked her not to touch it. The elderly woman, visibly concerned, pulled the purse into her lap to protect it.
We thought the issue was over.
But the woman returned a few minutes later. Again, they asked her—firmly and respectfully—not to touch the purse. Despite this, she actually grabbed the purse.
At that moment, I feared not only that she was going to walk away with the purse but also that she might physically assault the elderly woman. That fear remains with me today.
I was seated across the table and responded firmly, mostly sitting down. When she refused to put down the purse and step away from the elderly woman, I stood halfway up and raised my voice even louder—never threatening or swearing—but repeatedly told her to step away from the purse and the elderly woman. Only then did she put down the purse, but I still had to ask her to step away from the elderly woman. After that, she said, “How about I call the police?” I told her I might have to involve the authorities as well before choosing to leave the restaurant of my own free will to consider my legal options.
The elderly couple remained seated during the incident and stayed about 15 more minutes before quietly leaving.
The emotional toll was severe. The anxiety, shock, and violation lingered long after. The service was slow, the staff appeared disengaged, and the food was underwhelming in my opinion.
No one in our party used profanity or made threats. We made only clear, repeated requests that the elderly woman’s property be respected and that she be treated with basic human dignity.
I find it ironic that the establishment accuses me of “threatening” and “false accusations,” when the behavior I described—the repeated attempts, and ultimately the actual grabbing of a purse belonging to an elderly woman, along with the dismissive attitude toward our concerns—are themselves deeply troubling and disrespectful. It feels like a classic case of projection, where the real issues are being deflected by shifting blame onto those who speak up. I respectfully ask that the establishment stop making these unfounded accusations and focus on addressing the real concerns raised for the safety of the people who visit Silverthorne,...
Read moreFor most holidays, Enza's always has some kind of special menu. Our household favorites are the amazing Thanksgiving dinner, St. Patrick's Day corned beef and cabbage soup, and the Italian Easter Pie.
We look forward to these special menu items every year. Ranay and her staff take great care to provide delicious favorites. For example, her St. Patrick's Day soup has meticulously sliced corned beef with zero fat. When was the last time you ate corned beef with no fat? I bought two large containers of soup and went back the next day for two more large containers, but only got one more because they were sold out. It is the most delicious corned beef and cabbage soup I have ever had. I regret that I missed out on the St. Patrick's Day sandwich (sold out), but won't make that mistake again next year.
Enza's really rises to the occasion on holiday specials with their unique and delicious offerings. As far as I know, they are the only place in Summit County that offers Italian Easter Pie for Easter, so it makes it extra special. Thanks for the holiday traditions, Ranay!
Non-holiday side note: if you like meatloaf, try the frozen meatloaf dinners to go. I don't know what she does to it, but the meatloaf has a wonderful flavor and...
Read moreI love Enzas, but the food service and customer service is so incredibly unsatisfying. I’m not much of a Google reviewer but I paid 16 dollars for a Reuben sandwich and got two tiny pieces of corned beef and I kindly asked them if they could put a little more meat on it because this is not an 16 dollar sandwich (then add on tip). Mauricio said no I can’t do anything about the price and I can’t put more meat on there. I can’t do anything for you. So I asked if there was a manager i could speak with and he left for. Quick second and then came back and said there’s no manager. So I said what can we do to make this right. I have not sent food back in years but this was silly. Especially after paying $10 for a bowl of soup that was filled halfway up the bowl, which I just ate and kept my mouth shut. So as I sit here contemplating how do I fix this unfortunately writing a review is my only options because there’s no one else to talk to and no one here to make things right. I hate writing reviews but if you don’t have customers how do you survive in business. Especially being a local who supports summit county businesses, I want them to succeed but this is getting out of hand for those people who live...
