One of the nicest, most well kept coffee shops in the Silverton area. Presenting itself as a small, faith based coffee shop, Gear Up does an excellent job in employing people who are passionate about their profession. Every return customer is greeted by name. Staff members are well educated on the menu, offering an effortless ordering with a ton of recommendations. Prices are extremely fair as well, especially when compared to larger chain coffee shops like Starbucks. For 12 Dollars, I got a huge bagel sandwich and a freshly brewed cup of coffee. Although it's next to the worst eye-sore of a parking lot for an Ace Hardware, the moment you step inside you leave Kansas. The atmosphere of this place is lively and warm. The rusty bikes and amazing local artwork that sit on the walls enhance the surroundings and the employees are completely friendly and affable. Their house coffee is fresh and rich, and their white mocha is creamy and delicious. On a recent family trip to Silverton, we searched high and low for a place to sit down for breakfast. Everything was still closed or takeout only. We finally found Gear-Up, and I’m so glad we did. They saved our morning! Delicious coffee and breakfast sandwiches, with touches like local local bread and bacon (not to mention the delightful mini-doughnuts). The icing was when we mentioned to the owner that we had missed the Strawberry Festival, he brought my kids strawberry smoothies made from local berries.
