Main Moon Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Simsbury

We used to love Main Moon, it was the best Chinese takeout in our area and surrounding towns. This past visit we ordered general tsos chicken combo and the chicken was incredibly dry, anlmost powdery texture when eating, definitely over fried as well as the egg roll which was literally dripping in oil. Now I understand oil is used but it seemed as though the oil wasn’t fresh and the consequences of consuming my meal ripped my stomach apart. I do not have GI issues and have no had an experience like this before. Almost thought I had food poisoning. Also, I go two small dime sized broccoli pieces. That’s it. The peas in the fried rice seemed as though they were dry or frozen still. The whole dish was completely different then I remember and because of my experience, unless they step it up and realize that people want consistent, quality food for their hard earned money, I will not be returning.

I normally don't leave reviews but this was unacceptable. To begin, It took 1 hour for the delivery even though they are only 6 min away. When we got the food, the food was not hot. As we were eating it, I started noticing that my broccoli shrimp had cold spots. I then noticed my husband putting some of his General tso's chicken on the side and I asked him why he was doing that. He then showed me the pieces and they were literally completely frozen! We ended up throwing our food away. Such a terrible experience! The only reason I gave them two stars is because the taste was great, but come on!! Giving frozen food to your customers...

This is the only Chinese restaurant that I go to. The food is always hot, fresh, flavorful, and plentiful. I always get the boneless spare ribs and the chicken lo mein. I always have enough for two or three days. The ribs are always tender and the sauce for the ribs has a nice sweetness to them. The chicken lo mein, in my opinion pairs well with the boneless spare ribs. I eat them together. The people there are extremely nice. From the first time I discovered this place, I always gotten big smiles and a warm welcome as soon as I walked in. From the amazing customer service to the delicious food, I would highly recommend this...
