Shortly after walking through the entrance I was told by the manager we would have to wait for the evening shift to arrive before getting seated. So I waited by the door for 8 minutes or so before getting a table. Got drinks shortly after sitting down. Ordered my food and passed the time talking with my friend. Not too long later the appetizer arrived. It was mozzarella sticks which were of decent size hot and crispy. Which came to 8 sticks on the plate accompanied with an okay marinara sauce. About 6 to 8 minutes later my ribs come out which surprised me since I ordered a salad aswell. Eat the French fries first to make room for the mess of ribs. Try to eat the ribs but they are only bone with sauce on them half way through the ribs I'm only able to get 4 small bites of meat. My salad arrives and I ask for a to go box for the salad and let the waitress know about my meatless ribs. Manager shortly arrives and asked about the ribs. I point them out to her and explain that there just isn't any meat on the ribs. She looks at them and agrees. The manager asks if I want another rack of ribs or to deduct them from my order. Fearing the next rack of ribs to be the same I let her know that deducting the ribs from my order would be best. After she leaves the waitress arrives with my to go box for my salad and my friend and I leave shortly after paying. The ribs were removed from my order. Would I go back to this Applebee's? No I have only been to this Applebee's only a few times and while it's not bad it's just "eh" I don't leave feeling happy and satisfied....
Read moreWe both had the Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp. Chicken was very tender and juicy. Had sautéed onions and mushrooms under. Onions could have been done a bit more, but still ok. Shrimp was grilled and seasoned. Had a bit of a tougher skin on it, but this is very normal when grilling them like this. I’m not complaining, just informing so you are aware of how the come. Potatoes were good, but didn’t scream great. Service was also good, but didn’t scream great. Few mistakes, but honest ones. For example, we ordered 2 Angry orchards and 2 waters. He tried to clarify, and I said 2 of each, 2 beers and 2 waters. Instead he brought 4 beers and 2 waters. So we didn’t say anything and instead enjoyed 2 beers each even though we didn’t intend to order more than 1 each. For desert, I had asked for the Maple Butter Blondie, something I had ordered years ago and liked. He must have been post that desert, because he brought their Caramel Apple Blondie instead, which was quite good as well. I’m guessing the one I ordered wasn’t on the menu any longer. Over all, a good experience. Mistakes happen, and he wasn’t even aware he made any, and we left it that way and just...
Read moreEverytime my mother and I go there, there is a different issue. But the most common issue is the staff. The servers often are extremely snobby and seem to give preferential treatment to the customers dressed better, just coming from lunch or work in suits and such. I understand being friendly where you expect to get a better tip. But overlooking other guests just there on their day off or being rude or overlooking to other paying customers is not okay. On our most recent visit we ordered steaks and weren't given steak knives and had to use butter knifes because our server had made himself scarce, wasn't checking on us and whenever we tried to flag down the server diligently serving the table next to us, he ignored us. By the time we were able to properly eat our meal with the correct knives and butter we asked for half of it was cold and chewy. It saddens me that the Sioux City Abblebees aways gives us such terrible service when at the Norfolk, NE location we always receive superior service and food. Maybe if the staff we a little less self important. Maybe they should select a different...
