Decided to stop and sample a Milwaukee Weiner as we passed through Sioux City. The history brought us here. My husband ordered a chili dog with cheese and a Barker – I ordered a plain dog with mustard. Excellent hot dog dinner! The buns were soft but not doughy – the chili seemed homemade and wasn’t spicy – the kraut wasn’t too soggy. The service was excellent, friendly, and fast. The dogs were served on real ceramic plates. A dog is a dog – but these are the best we’ve ever had, and it was refreshing to get the kind of service that was rare even pre-covid. We dined during off-peak hours in a spotless dining room. While we were there – the window service was hopping. I'm not one to normally rave about hot dogs, but Milwaukee Weiner is the real deal. The history of the place is enough to bring in any hungry traveler, but the food, and service will keep you coming back.

My 10 year old found this place and insisted we try it. This being our first time, we walked in and were greeted by 4 gentlemen who were very helpful and friendly! Everything is a la cart style. The menu is posted on the board behind the counter with employees there ready to serve you quickly and efficiently! We loved the chili dogs, mustard, onions and chili on the hot dogs was so good!! Booth seating is avaliable inside with tables outside and even a walk up window!! So cute I thought! Very clean, comfortable with very respectful, polite and inviting staff there to help with whatever you need!! We will be coming back here again for sure! Our family of 6 all got at least 2 dogs per person, drinks and chips and it cost us under $63, for 6 people! That's a deal, and it was delicious food!!

Braaaaaaaa!!! This place is the definition of an American Classic! Like a maid rite in this B… I was juts waiting in the Teddy Swims concert and wanted a snack and what’s a more America. Snack then a hot diggidy hot dog! I just got there classic chili cheese dog and boy did this make me happier then finding an empty rocking chair on a porch swing. The double dog had me astonished! And even though it’s just an onion chili cheese dog… that weiner between that bun was a childhood nostalgia that is incomparable. If your in town, go check out this basic delicacy! Especially if you have little ones… they have beer, duh!

I make the pilgrimmage to the Milwaukee Wiener House at least once a year when we visit the inlaws. It's a guilty pleasure along the lines of White Castle. You just start to crave those hot dogs smothered in chili, onions and mustard. Once there, you don't just get one hot dog, you get 3 or 4 of them along with a bottled coke. Absolutely delicious!

The atmosphere is great, it's like stepping back in time to the 1960's. Pictures adorn the walls for you to track their history through the decades making it feel historic. I hear the shop will be moving to a new location as downtown Sioux City revitalizes. Hopefully the new place retains some of the timeless charm and avoids the "Starbucks" decor that so many restaurants fall victim to these days. 5 stars for great dogs and...
