Had never been here before. Didn’t know the program, but seemed a little off today. There was a sign at the door saying to wait to be seated, yet I waited for probably 5min or more while several employees buzzed by, and no one offered help or even said they would be back to seat me. Someone clearing tables (not wait staff) finally asked if I had been helped, and I said no, so he told me to just find a spot and someone would be with me. Didn’t seem like it was part of his job, so kudos to him for noticing I wasn’t getting helped. My waitress didn’t show for a while. Once she did, it took quite a while for her return. She came by for other tables, but passed me up. I didn’t even get my drink until my meal was half way eaten, whereas I’m used to having a drink while looking at the menu. I ordered the bright side burger and chili. Both were pretty decent. Not out of this world, but worthy enough to try again some time. Fries were decent too. From my experience, food seemed good enough to try again sometime. Service certainly seemed lacking today, but I saw other servers buzzing around attentively, so I think it is possible that my issues happens to be with the particular server that I had. Therefore, since the food was decent, and it looked like other people were getting good service, I’m not going to dismiss the place from a lack of service experience this time, as I assume it was likely something that may not repeat if I try again. So I’ll give a good 4 stars at this point, and try again sometime to hope they hold the 4 star rating I gave them the benefit of...
Read moreI just moved to town and was looking for some place to have breakfast and bright side diner was closed so I went there. The server was incredible young girl I didn't catch your name and she wasn't wearing a name tag but she was very attentive and took good care of me. What set this place apart was an older gentleman came in who was obviously homeless or at least down on his luck. He asked for a cup of coffee but only had about 30 cents on him The server treated him with incredible respect she got him a cup of coffee put an ice cube in it to cool it off so he could drink it sat him down and told him to go ahead and drink his coffee and take as much time as he needed. The way she treated him would respect was just incredible. I'm not one that usually hands out money to people but as I left I was inspired to give him some money to order him a full breakfast. This will be my diner of choice whenever I go out to eat from now on. The ownership should be proud of their employees especially this young girl it was a delight to see somebody younger being that caring to an older person. The food was very good...
Read moreBrightside Cafe is AMAZING! The food was fantastic, the service was great, and the vibe was inspiring -- both because of the cool quotes painted on the walls in the cafe, as well as the pay-it-forward aspect of being able to contribute to their breakfast program for those experiencing food insecurity. Brightside Catering was also off-the-charts outstanding. We were in Sioux City for our son's wedding, and needed to locate a caterer for the Friday evening event we were hosting. Brightside was brilliant, bringing the first sitting (full dinner) for 30 and ensuring all was set up beautifully (we used The Pierce, a great location!), and our guests all commented on how good the food was... then Brightside returned with our second set of food for a welcome reception for 75 people, and again everything was just right. The Brightside team made sure everything was right. Fresh Food Crafted with Love is at the top of their web site, and I'd only add slightly: "Food Crafted and...
