I brought my fiancé here for her birthday and wow were we disappointed. I thought about coming here for months and months and what a mistake it was. The man running the counter acted like he hated his job. He sounded like a robot. I am almost certain he was a manager due to the fact he was bossing everyone else around. He also was handling money with the same glove on and didn’t switch it then was grabbing corn bread with the same glove and giving it to us and other people how disgusting. 16 dollars for brisket and 2 sides was a rip off. The portion sizes of the sides is ridiculously small. The beef brisket was super chewy and dry. Definitely some of the worst brisket I have ever had. The mac and cheese tasted like off brand that comes in a box. The baked beans were decent but putting black beans in with the baked beans was not a good mixture at all. The beans tasted like beans you get out of a can which isn’t bad but it isn’t good either. The corn bread tasted freezer burnt I bet they don’t make that homemade. The macaroni salad tasted terrible. The barbecue sauce they have isn’t that great it tastes like cookies sauce you buy at your local hyvee. This place doesn’t have quality food at all. They give you a decent amount of brisket but only give you one bun. The amount of meat they give you will make 3 sandwiches but yet they are so cheap they only give you one bun. I spent nearly 40 dollars for low quality food and little portioned sides I feel robbed I really do. I do not recommend this place and i definitely will not be returning back here. There is much better barbecue places. This place ruined my girlfriends birthday...
Read moreA fast casual BBQ joint. Location is next to a casino, and that only matters because the casino sign is big and BBQ sign is small and you could miss it. Atmosphere was fine. They were going for a southern barn style in the look. Some of the building was unfinished. Hvac wasn't connect. It was very cold inside. Outside temp was very moderate but it was cold inside. It wasn't that busy, easy to find a place to sit at 6pm Friday night. Food was pretty good. Ordered 2 meat combo, pulled pork and brisket. Came with a drink and two sides or one order of fries. I got cheesy potato casserole and slaw. The 2 meats come on smaller sweet rolls or you can order without bread. They were around the size of a slider. Overall the food was luke warm. And it actually seemd a tad dry, particularly the brisket. The potatoes were good, but not hot. Slaw was creamy and not too tangy/vinegary. They have a classic, hot and mustard sauce. I had the classic. It was flavorful and good. The guy who rang us up appeared to be the "main person". Owner/cook or something. Nice guy. Friendly and helped with questions. Overall, it was fine. Disappointed with temperature of food. And really the temp of the dining area. I enjoy BBQ, but it didn't have a lot to pull me back...
Read moreFrim Texas Pit BBQ to North Carolina. I've been to 100s of BBQ places across the USA.
To start.
The Brisket....Tender with a nice crust. Great smoke ring and the dry rub is perfection. The Sauce is setting on the table for your personal touch. Add as much as you want or as little.
The Ribs......Juicy. Fall off the bone with a gentle tug. beautiful flavor.
The Pulled Pork......With my wife and Mother N Law in tow. (2 of the pickiest BBQ eaters ever) They ordered the Pulled Pork Combo priced at a reasonable $8.88 with 2 sides and a drink included. They have fallen in love. Juicy with a smokey flavor awaiting you to apply sauce and devour it.
THE SIDES WE CHOSE......baked beans in molasses......macaroni and cheese.....and SDSU Ice Cream. Beans were awesome sweet and tangy. The mac n cheese.....spicier than there hot bbq sauce but not over powering the cheese sauce.....
Now being a bit of a spicy person.....I would love to see them offer a over the top hot sauce for the more adventurous patrons.
For the price I wouldn't suggest anywhere else. Famous Dave's isn't in the same solar system as these pit masters of mega...
