Had a good burger - just as advertised! I ordered the Classic Burger. When it comes to burgers, I like to order without the bun and check out the quality of the beef. The beef here is excellent. Tasty! I liked that I was asked if I wanted seasoned fries. I got them fresh and lightly salted. Good quality potato. The lettuce, tomato, and pickles were fresh and crisp. The secret sauce was too "catsup" tasting to my liking and not as thick as I would have liked, but that didn't stop me from spreading a knife full on each bite! I was greeted, served, and thanked with smiles and by personable staff. Loved the smile on the young man who I think may have been the cook when he served the meal. Very sweet. The place is small but cozy. This would be a great neighborhood pub for regulars to meet. The only real negative to give is the entrance door. It was difficult to open and the button for the access door to open wasn't working . However, I'm sure it will be fixed soon. This lovely little pub is clean, the people are smiling and personable and the food is better than average and priced well. I'll be taking my family here on their next visit - and hope to try...
Read moreMe and my fiancé stopped in for a beer and burger and the service was HORRIBLE. We sat at the bar and our bartender right off the bat had a very sour attitude. I believe his name was izah? Izak? As I ordered my beer, he turned his back at my fiancé as he was also ordering his beer. Then rolled his eyes when my fiancé repeated his beer order. We let it go but then had to ASK to order as our bartender was talking to his co worker about how he didn’t like the day and wasn’t having fun and wanted the day to be over. Don’t get me wrong. Everyone has bad days but he honestly made the experience horrible. The perfect ending to our experience was when my fiancé payed and I usually tip (that’s how we dine out, he pays I tip) as I wrote cash on the credit card receipt, our bartender said to his co worker “oh great she wrote cash on the slip but hasn’t tipped” “greaat” as I was grabbing my wallet to tip. I been in the industry, I’m all for trash talking customers.. but when they aren’t RIGHT INFRONT of me. Love the place and food but the experience doesn’t have us running back to...
Read moreJL Beers is one of my favorite spots in Sioux Falls. The place has an amazing beer selection and it is always rotating. They have a detailed beer menu explaining each different beer. If you still have questions the bar tenders are an expert in their knowledge of beer. They have your run of the mill domestics all they was up to your rare barrel aged beers. I'd also to clear up some of the negative reviews. The place is small. That's one of the things that makes it great. People are always willing to slide down to free up a seat. The bugers are very affordable and made on the spot. I enjoy them more that a lot of the gourmet burgers I've paid twice the price for elsewhere. Their fries are sliced out of whole potatoes and made fresh right in front of you. The beer cheese dipping sauce is good enough to drink. It is also common for the manager of the bar to come and visit with you if he's in. There is also good music playing (by good I mean not top 40 pop or country hits) while you eat. You won't find a better burger and craft beer joint in...
