For starters, I initially was happy to have a healthy option here in Sioux Falls, however, this restaurant has proven to be a disappointment more often than not. I’ve overlooked multiple disappointments here for the sake of the healthy options but I can no longer. I’ve ordered take out and delivery numerous times- from leaving chips or bread out when they are to be included-no biggie I’ve overlooked, chicken having hard chunks numerous times so I finally started substituting with different chicken options-all having hard chunks, as well, then choosing a different protein altogether, paying $2.45 additional for only three pieces of mushrooms as the protein “substitute” but being charged anyway, and I did call and complain about the chicken too, not having the bowl mixed when it’s necessary to have mixed in order to eat it. I mean, who keeps a large mixing bowl with them wherever they go! If you need it mixed in house, you need it mixed elsewhere too! They overlook online special request, intentionally or selectively-make up your mind. They are aware this feature doesn’t print from the app, but don’t even bother to fix or inform online users they pay no attention to your special request, and it’s selective if they ever did. If they follow it multiple times, then not other times, it should always be followed. Why be selective as to when you’re going to follow a customer’s special request-take the feature off the app. No matter what they always have some kind of excuse for their incompetence instead of doing better! Whether it’s too busy to acknowledge “every” special request, whatever the case, thats always the excuse; however, it’s ALWAYS slow when I’ve chosen to come in to order and watch them make the salad, instead. Ive come in at lunch time-slow, , dinner time-slow, I’ve never eaten in because the staff side eyes their own guests like they resent them and are unthankful for their business—it makes me uncomfortable so I take with or have delivered, but for me, that’s normal Sioux Falls behavior because I’m not from here so I’m used to being shunned for my accent or physical features, both being very different from theirs. I have to include this IS THE ONLY C&G I get a very negative vibe from too! I’ve always been friendly in person and keep the complaint low keel because I’m already judged unjustly, but it’s hard to tell if they are really THAT incompetent or if it’s just intentional behavior. Recently, I was falsely accused of cursing and threatening which was the last straw. I work very hard for my money and do not like having to reach out to complain about anything at all! “Incompetent” is not a curse word and saying I should wait to throw the salad out in front of other customers to see, is not a threat, either. I cant eat the salad if it isn’t mixed, period. Very rarely it’s just one issue, though with the online order; leaving out the bread or chips, not mixing, wrong protein “substitute” and still being charged additional, hard chunks in the chicken, no utensil to eat with or napkin left out; in house, resentful staff, side eyes, overcharging for substitutions, rushing when there are no other guests in line with multiple staff just standing around, ignored if you need something additional. I choose to complain to management instead of the employees bc I don’t know if they’re underpaid, or mistreated by management, which is usually the reason behind bad customer service, but the management is worse in this case bc it never changes for the better when I have called to inform of the inconsistencies. I can only hope other healthier options come to Sioux Falls at this point. I tried to point out their failures, but give up at this point. They’d rather deflect, side step or falsely accuse, in this case, than do better. You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink, I believe...
Read moreAlways look forward to a fresh lunch at Crisp and Greens. We have eaten at several locations in the Midwest, but live closest to the Sioux Falls location. The flavors and recipes of the food is spot on and we just love trying new things! However, the location in Sioux Falls needs a lot of help. It does not matter what time of day we visit (peak v non-peak times), our order has been incorrect EVERY time. I ask for it to be corrected and I get one of two responses: “Sorry we are just really busy” or “ You should have told us that when you ordered”. It always seems any mistakes that are made are someone else’s fault. For example, today my husband and I order one wrap and one bowl. We ordered it through the app around 12:35, and I was notified that it would be ready by 1:01pm. So, I arrived at the store to pick up my order at 1:05. Seven people were ahead of me in the online order pickup area. After talking to some of them, many had been waiting 15-30 minutes past their stated pickup time. Many of them had items that had been missed on their order so a couple of them came back in to get the missing item put on the bowl or get their drink that was forgotten. The young woman at the checkout kept getting frustrated with us customers asking about our orders and stated, “it’s just really busy right now” instead of “I’ll check on that for you”. When an order was ready, instead of calling out the name on the order she pushed her way through us and just set it in the pickup shelves. So we all went over to see if it was our order, which could have been eliminated by just calling out a name for the order. There was another young woman that started helping and eventually we all got our orders, but if the Second Lady wouldn’t have come over to help, I’m not sure many of us would have continued to wait for our orders. I finally got my order at 1:32 and my husbands wrap was soggy because it had been sitting in the bag for quite some time and I had had several custom toppings missing from my bowl that I paid extra for. Usually the food makes up for the crappy service, but not this time. This location is not clean. Anytime we have visited, tables are dirty, floor and carpets are sticky or filthy. Bathrooms are out of toilet paper and not clean. I am not sure if it’s management that needs to be retrained as to what is acceptable for a restaurant that is serving fresh, nutritious food, but this location needs several issues remedied. I have stopped at this location many times and every time I tell myself maybe it will be better at my next visit; however today was my last. I have not had any other complaints similar to this with any other location I have eaten at. It is unfortunate because I LOVE eating here, but I guess I will have to save it for when I am on the...
Read moreI was visiting from out of town and was looking for a salad place, and Crisp & Green came up as being nearby. I ventured in and was impressed with the clean, modern atmosphere. However, I soon began to feel uncomfortable. I first went to the salad line and no one greeted me. I was looking at the menu and noticed there were acai bowls available. My husband and I typically try these in every city we visit, so I decided to try one. Here was the first problem: the digital signboard would only show the acai menu briefly and it was hard to compare between the bowls when it only flashed for seconds at a time. In finally just chose one, and a sign said to order bowls at the cash register. I got out of the salad line and went around, and people coming from the salad line to pay looked at me oddly because they didn't know why I was standing there. After a period of time, I just told the girl I needed to order an acai bowl, even though she never acknowledged my presence. I then stood off to the side waiting on my order, and after a time, she realized I was still there and she left the cash register and went and made the bowl herself. I've tasted MANY acai bowls. This one was just okay. I love having clean options that are easily and quickly accessible, so I want Crisp & Green to do well, but they need to go to different places and sample acai bowls. Some of my favorites are from a mall in Salt Lake City across the street from the Convention Center, and City Bowls in Birmingham, AL. Those are the best I've ever had. The protein base at Crisp & Green was okay, but the toppings were nothing special. I wish they had been layered so you got some of everything in each bite, plus there needed to be more toppings for a better ratio of acai to toppings. City Bowls would be worth visiting to know what I am talking about, or see my...
