My recent experience at Minervas for a private event left an indelibly positive impression, earning the restaurant a well-deserved five out of five stars. From the moment I entered, it was evident that Minervas excelled in creating an exceptional atmosphere for special occasions.

The ambiance was sophisticated yet warm, striking the perfect balance between upscale and inviting. The staff exhibited a level of professionalism that enhanced the overall dining experience. From the attentive waitstaff to the event coordinators, everyone contributed to a seamless and enjoyable evening.

The private event space was thoughtfully designed, providing an intimate setting without compromising on comfort. The attention to detail was apparent in the table arrangements, lighting, and overall decor. The restaurant's commitment to creating a memorable atmosphere for private gatherings was evident in every aspect of the evening.

The culinary experience at Minervas was nothing short of exceptional. The menu showcased a diverse selection of dishes, each crafted with precision and presented with an artistic flair. The quality of the ingredients and the skillful preparation elevated the dining experience to a level of culinary excellence. From appetizers to desserts, each course was a culinary delight that left a lasting impression on my taste buds.

The service was a standout feature, with the staff demonstrating a keen understanding of the importance of timing and attentiveness during a private event. From accommodating special dietary requests to ensuring timely service, the staff at Minervas excelled in providing a personalized and flawless dining experience.

While Minervas may be recognized for its fine dining reputation, my private event experience went beyond expectations, proving that they are not only a destination for special occasions but also masters in curating unforgettable moments. The five-star rating is a testament to the exceptional service, exquisite cuisine, and meticulous attention to detail that define Minervas as a top-tier dining establishment. If you're seeking a venue for a memorable private event, Minervas undoubtedly stands out as a...

Been thinking on exactly how I was going to post this. I have not been here in 20 years and remember how awesome this place was. So I was so disappointed on our experience. The service was absolutely horrible. We showed up early and the hosting staff was awesome. They explained that it was going to be a bit and said we could go to the bar and wait until our table was ready. Completely understandable. Went to the bar which only had a few people at and they had two bartenders and couldn't get anyone to serve us. We waited 10 min to have someone to come wait on us. I would understand if they were busy but there were a lot of empty chairs at the bar. After we got our drinks a pair of gentlemen sat beside us both bartenders rushed to take their drink order. Which I found odd but found out they were regulars. A few min later our table was ready. There was four of us in our party. We were seated. After getting seated it was 15min before our server came to greet us. He was very friendly but seemed to be distracted. After we ordered our drinks he came back with the drinks 2 plates and two rolled silverware. We ordered an appetizers and our meals. He brought the appetizers but never brought anymore plates or silverware. We asked for more plates and he said ohh yea. We Finally got our plates. We got our food. I had a strip the wife had ribeye. Both supposed to be medium rare. Mine was perfect but hers was well done. Our server never returned to ask about our meal until I waved him over. By this time we were frustrated and the wife just ate her steak. I have no problem paying for great food and a great experience but this place fell very short of what...

Unknown to anyone outside the area, Downtown Sioux Falls has some really nice restaurants. So I grabbed the wife, told her to get in the back of the car and we drove to Minervas.

Upon entering, it's got more of a steakhouse feel as most of the decor is wood. But it's very nice. Probably could do without the fake stained glass window things they have but overall it's a nice place. I believe the building has been some sort of restaurant since 1917.

We ordered a Walleye Cake appetizer and 2 Margaritas. The Walleye cakes were very delicious! Margaritas while in a skinny glass, were strong and tasty. If I'm gonna pay $10 a drink, just break out the fat big boy glasses and fill it up. After that I tried the Habenero Whiskey Lemonade. That was so amazing!!

Then came the dinners of Pheasant Risotto and Filet mignon with a mushroom enhancer. Food was top notch. The steak was the 2nd best the wife and I have had. Only place that beat it was Hells Kitchen in Vegas. Had I known how good her steak was going to be, I would have ordered one too. The plating of her steak was a little poor but tasted great.

For dessert we ordered the Creme Brule and Panna Cotta with Strawberry caviar. Amazing dessert! Beautifully plated and just pure heaven. The strawberry caviar is amazing!! One of the prettiest desserts I've been served from a plating perspective.

We will definitely be back again to try more dishes and desserts. With a 20% tip to the great waitress (small skinny blonde girl), our bill was $185. Not...

Minerva’s in downtown Sioux Falls continues to uphold its reputation as a solid choice for a refined dining experience. We had a reservation booked 12 hours in advance and were seated promptly upon arrival—a great start to our evening. Our server, Olivia, was a highlight of the night. She was friendly, attentive, and well-versed in the menu, offering thoughtful answers to our questions and making us feel welcome throughout the meal. The food came out in a timely manner. My wife’s breaded walleye was particularly impressive—crispy on the outside, flaky and flavorful on the inside, and generously portioned. My rainbow trout, while fresh, was just average and could have benefited from a more dynamic sauce. There were a couple of service-related delays at the start of our visit. It took about five minutes before we were initially greeted with water and another five before our drink orders were taken. It was an additional 15 minutes before our drinks—a beer and a mojito—arrived. While that lag was noticeable, it’s worth noting that it was a bustling Friday evening in the heart of downtown, and my wife wisely pointed out that the bar was likely operating at full capacity. Overall, Minerva’s delivered a pleasant dinner with courteous service and well-prepared entrees. While there were a few hiccups with drink service, the atmosphere and professionalism of the staff made for an enjoyable evening.

Service was decent. Food choice is a bit limited, but taste was amazing, and it could improve on presentation. Basic flavors, but well put together. I recommend Minerva's for a nice date night or corporate meeting with dining. One offputting experience is the staff that are constantly waiting to pick up plates from the table, as I saw them lingering around frequently and came to my table more than my actual server. Front of house/hosts/hostess needs a bit of organization, seemed a bit hectic/unwelcoming even with 3 staff to assist, but one was on the phone, and the other two seemed a bit green in regards to flow of seating and seating system. The price for the food was appropriate, as that was the highlight. I ordered Mussels, Ribeye w/sweet potato FF, Coconut Curry Chicken, and Pesto Tortellini w/chicken. Ribeye melted in my mouth with a buttery flavor that's true to a well grilled cut of meat. Loved the Coconut Curry Chicken, has a mediocre kick, but so many delicious flavor blends. Pesto Tortellini w/chicken was average, but still good. Mussels were not my favorite, as it could have used some more flavor in the broth. I would go again, and do recommend.
