Monk’s Ale House — Restaurant in Sioux Falls Township

It was our first experience joining some friends at Monk’s, when we arrived, the sign says seat yourself so we took a table, but it only had three chairs. Plenty of open sitting at the bar grabbed a chair.. immediately I was scolded by the bartender that we can take them from any place but the bar and I needed to put that back, no offer to help find another chair. Ok thanks for the warm, greetings and welcome.. Terrible start to our experience. 1/2 of the online menu is not available ..Next our waitress didn’t tell us until it was time to bring out the food that one of the items they were out of, so now, one of the people in our group can watch us eat? Instead of ordering another item we just had her share with us.. The fig pizza didn’t see any figs lots of mushrooms???? When we asked if we could have a glass of water we were told by our waitress she was just way too busy. We ordered wine, later we ordered another glass the waitress seemed put out and brought the same wine in different glasses and said something about she was pouring them from little 12oz bottles now instead? in the end we had to ask for the item that you didn’t have to be removed from the bill because we were charged for it. Saturday night at 6:30 pm Failure..Wanted to like this place but definitely...

Love love love love love Monk's! I have been going there for years, even before the new ownership. With the change of ownership I was honestly scared of what would happen but the new owners killed it with the remodeling - keeping the same moody but cozy atmosphere. The food is limited but we really have had no complaints with anything that we have had - the food is delicious! The variety of beer on tap is on point!! There is something for everybody here so if you have friends that are more seltzer or cider drinkers there's options for them as well! One of our favorite things is that it is a dog-friendly establishment. We have been bringing our boxer here since he was a pup and he LOVES the fireplace and attention he gets. There is not a day that we go in there that staff or people don't comment on or gawk over our sweet, handsome boy! It has been slim to never that we have had an issue with staff - they're all welcoming and friendly as far as our experiences go. This is a Sioux Falls...

ok first off I'm from Pennsylvania traveling on work and just wanted to wind down for airplane traveling. I saw other reviews and figured hey let's try it..OMG their smash burgers were amazing. cooked to perfection and their pickled onions and jalapeños were spot on. their homemade sauce was to die for and complimented every bite..now I'm not a fan of American cheese but it still worked out overall. I also tried garlic cheese sticks..nice flavor large portion..nothing to go raving about but still good as an appetizer..

now their beer list..OMG extensive..I had 2 beers I've never tried before being from outta state but over 49+ beers on tap made my night..they also have bottles and cans..

I may have to come back but since I'm traveling I wanna try others

in conclusion people give this place a chance if you love a good smash burger and a hell of a list of beers to chose from
