Food is good but the already high prices recently went up again. They basically killed their daily specials with the price increases and inconsistently honor their customer loyalty cards ("Buy 7 Meals, Get 1 Free").
Just an hour or so ago, I tried to redeem one such loyalty card I had filled out from 7 previous visits that said I could have 1 meal free. Thinking I could trust the card they gave me, I ordered something a little fancier (Chislic - $12) to see how I liked it and when I tried to pay they said they wouldn't honor my punch card. In my conversation with the manager Mike he accused me of trying to "chinse" him for wanting to get my 8th meal free as the punch card clearly stated. Overall it was a dismal customer service experience.
I've been here many times for lunch as I work very near by, but I'm afraid I won't be going back after this experience - not honoring their own coupons and accusing loyal customers of being cheap or "chinsey" when attempting to use their own customer loyalty cards.
As a local who prefers to not pay upwards of $12 for a meal I suggest the following options of equal if not higher quality that come in at a lower price and so far haven't given me hell for redeeming a coupon: Wiley's Tavern (Awesome Pizza's, Food & Drink Specials, and Overall Atmostphere for less $$$ - Within 2 Blocks); PepperJax Grill (Best Philly in town for less $$$); Five Guys (Awesome Burgers & Fries - within a mile); The Diner (Try the Smore Milkshake! - within 2 Blocks); Pickle Barrel (Best oversized sandwiches/peppersteaks in town - Epic Pickles!); Ched's (If you like cheesy sandwiches and soups - within a mile);or JL Beers (Great burgers and brews -...
Read moreMy husband and I came through the restaurant to sit outside on the patio for lunch. There was a sign inside that said “seat yourself” so we asked the bartender if we could just go sit outside. He said yes. There was a group of ladies at one end of the patio and two galls at the table near stair. we sat down at a table in the middle. The two girls near the stairs had to go inside to ask for a to-go box and were never addressed or brought their bill. They seemed irritated. My husband and I sat there for 10 minutes and then a group of three sat down next to us. We sat there for 5 more minutes....still waiting to be addressed, and a waitress with brown/grayed hair and a cap on came out and asked the table of three, the group that had just sat down...after us, for a drink order....completely ignoring us. She looked at us but walked away after taking the group of 3’s drink order. A blonde came out and gave us water and said someone would be out to take our order soon. We sat there for 5 more minutes still waiting to be addressed and then decided to leave. I would suggest taking the sign away that says “seat yourself” and get more help! You have the perfect ambiance and scenery next to the river but service falls to a ZERO! This was our first time to try your place out and doubt we...
Read moreYou know what, you just gotta know what you're getting into. I don't think they do liquor. However, they have 20+ beers on tap, craft and otherwise. Few ipas, sours, darks, ... The food is very straightforward, standard bar fare. It's very good and the most expensive thing on the menu is the $12 Philly, which I was very happy with for the price. The atmosphere isn't anything too thrilling. Pretty standard dive bar no-thrills about it. But it's clean and the staff is wonderful.
Overall, I would definitely go back, but you just have to set your expectations. This isn't a business casual have lunch meetings here kinda place, but more a place for the guys to grab a cold one and share some rings while catching the last 5 minutes of a sports game before headed home after a long...
