Day in and day out we strive to support local, but sometimes service, or lack thereof, makes it extremely difficult. While I know that Dairy Queen is a big business, I also know that this location is owned, managed and run by our community. We have never had great service at this location, but we know that good, hardworking employees are hard to come by, and so we have still tried to support. Tonight was the final straw. I counted 5 employees, 4 patrons seating inside, and 3 cars in the drive through. For 15 minutes we stood inside, in line with 4 other groups. We were NEVER acknowledged. Not once. Not, "We will be right with you", not "We are sorry for the wait, but we are a little backed up" - Nothing. We asked the young man working the foodline for help and he responded, "I don't know how to work the register." A valid response, but never did he apologize for the wait or attempt to get one of the girls to help. The same girls who all looked at us standing there at one time or another. ALL four of us left. That's 4 families who would have spent their hard earned money on poor service and mediocre ice cream, but enough was enough. We headed to another local shop - this one is one of a kind and so was their service. We walked through the door and were greeted with a "Welcome, we will be right with you" they had a line to the door and onky 2 employees. We were also met by two of the other families who stood with us in line with us. DQ is unfortunately just another place that we will not patronize until they re-vamp their service and quality. These kids need to be trained. They need to be held accountable. They need this not for tonight, but for their future - to be successful employees and business...
Read moreBlizzard is a blizzard, you'd think but its not true. Good blizzards are as much about the people making them as about the ingredients you select. I have lived here for a while now and can say that if and only if you're coming here for blizzards, you'll be just fine. That would be a 5 star review right there, congrats you got the formula down and you do it well, but location serves food as well and that's where the location fails, EPICALLY. Speed of service does not equal quality unfortunately. Nearly every time fried food has come out overfried, burnt, and tasting of freezer burn. Burgers have been one one side of the spectrum or the other. No perfectly cooked only nearly frozen or charcoal. No in between. Hot dogs are lukewarm and chili sauce tastes old. If you notice none of these things are DQ inc's fault, these are the fault if the location and the people who are clearly on a "high"er plane than I or most adults that come through the line are. I once repeated small banana split blizzard add brownies 6 times while the blank faced worker just stared at me. The drive thru presents it's usual confused unable to be heard problems but add in someone's who can clearly hear the colors they are seeing, and it's a recepie for disaster. And it has been. Plenty if times. But who am I to pass up a blizzard every now and...
Read moreJust What I Needed After a Long Day – Thanks, Dairy Queen!
After a full day of printing custom t-shirts — standing on my feet, managing designs— I was beyond ready for something cold and comforting. Dairy Queen came through big time.
I swung by to grab a shake, and it ended up being the perfect way to wrap up a long, exhausting day. From the moment I pulled up, the staff was friendly and upbeat — exactly the kind of energy I needed to shake off the stress. I ordered a classic chocolate shake, and not only did it come out quickly, but it was thick, rich, and perfectly blended. You could tell they didn’t skimp on quality.
There’s something about that first cold sip after a day of hard work — it hit the spot in every way. Smooth, creamy, just the right amount of sweetness… It felt like a small reward that made the whole day feel worth it.
The service was fast, the staff was cheerful, and everything was super clean — even during the evening rush. Honestly, it was one of those simple experiences that leaves a big impression.
If you’ve had a long day and need to cool off or just treat yourself, Dairy Queen knows how to deliver the goods. I’ll definitely be back after my next round of...
